Mr. Le Trong Hieu, Director of Office Leasing at CBRE Vietnam, gave a presentation on the overview of the Ho Chi Minh City office market, the total existing supply and new supply in Q1 2018, the market outlook for 2018, and development trends. In addition, Mr. Hieu also provided insights into the future demand for office space from tenants.
Also at the event, Mr. Aylwin Tan, Director of Corporate Clients at Ascendas-Singbridge Pte Ltd., a shareholder of Ascendas Saigon Bund, shared the reasons why the group is building the OneHub Saigon project. “Ascendas-Singbridge is more than just an investor or a leasing company; it’s about adding value to our clients. Mr. Le Trong Hieu shared, “The first quarter of 2018 saw many large-scale office leasing transactions in the central area and suburban districts, focusing on manufacturing, distribution, co-working spaces, information technology, banking, and insurance sectors. Although no new supply entered the market in the first quarter of 2018, several investors have been actively developing Grade A and B office building projects to supplement the supply for the 2019-2020 period. This includes Office Tower 1, part of the OneHub Saigon project by Ascendas-Singbridge Group in the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park, District 9, which will be operational from the first quarter of 2019. This area is included in Ho Chi Minh City's priority development plan, with a series of infrastructure and new urban development projects underway, such as the Metro Line 1 and the Creative City with the National University as its foundation.” Ho Chi Minh City is located in Thu Duc and the Thu Thiem new urban area is in District 2.”
