The Vietnam National Tourism Administration aims to welcome 17-18 million international visitors in 2024 (compared to 12.6 million in 2023) and 110 million domestic visitors. It is projected that by 2025, Vietnam's tourism industry will have fully recovered, returning to pre-Covid-19 pandemic levels.
The current domestic tourism market shows that, to avoid high airfare costs, tourists are traveling to nearby destinations by train or private vehicle. Therefore, to keep up with customer demand, many travel businesses are making appropriate changes.

Following the directives of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People's Committee of Lai Chau province regarding the implementation of the domestic tourism stimulus program in 2024, the Lai Chau Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism recently launched the program "Vietnamese People Travel in Vietnam - My Beloved Vietnam" from June 2024 to the end of September 2024.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lai Chau province, 60 businesses/households (including: 16 accommodation establishments, 27 homestays, 6 tourist areas/sites, shopping cooperatives, 8 tourist areas/sites and 11 restaurants) participated in the stimulus program with contents such as: discounted accommodation and services at tourist areas/sites and restaurants... with discounts ranging from 8 to 20%... In addition, businesses/households also committed to reducing prices without compromising quality, to spread the message "Lai Chau - Discover to Enjoy".
Lai Châu aims to attract more tourists for this year's tourism season.
In addition to attractive stimulus packages, the last six months of 2024 will see many unique festivals, cultural and tourism events taking place in the districts/cities (including the Independence Day celebration and Lai Chau Tourism and Culture Week 2024, held in Than Uyen district from August 31st to September 2nd, 2024).
With proactive preparation of necessary conditions, a domestic tourism stimulus program during the summer, and a series of promotional events in the final months of the year, Lai Chau promises to become a destination attracting a large number of tourists. The close coordination between departments and the meticulous investment in tourism infrastructure, services, and diverse entertainment activities will provide visitors with enjoyable and memorable experiences.
Lai Chau is attractive not only for its majestic natural landscapes and unique culture but also for its continuous efforts in improving service quality and promoting its image. With strategic plans and commitment from the local government, Lai Chau will certainly become one of the outstanding tourist destinations in the near future.
