"The Vibrant Colors of Lai Chau" is the theme of the series of activities in the "Lai Chau Culture Day in Hanoi" event in 2020, which opened last night (December 18th) and will last until December 20th in the Octagonal House area, pedestrian street, and Hoan Kiem Lake.

During the event, many activities showcasing the unique cultural identity of Lai Chau were organized, such as reenactments of cultural spaces and spiritual rituals of several ethnic groups like the Thai, Mong, and Lu; performances of folk art with many traditional folk songs; introductions to traditional crafts; experiencing folk games; and enjoying ready-made ethnic cuisine such as smoked meat, dried bamboo shoots, and Oolong tea.

In particular, visitors shouldn't miss the more than 20 booths showcasing and promoting nearly 100 OCOP products, agricultural products, and specialties from Lai Chau province. Alongside these are beautiful photo exhibitions about the land and people of Lai Chau, and booths introducing and promoting Lai Chau tourism.

Through these activities, the event has promoted and introduced the image of Lai Chau's land and people; its unique and distinctive cultural values, OCOP products, agricultural products and local specialties, as well as its potential, strengths, and attractive tourist destinations to the public.

At the same time, through the organization of the "Lai Chau - Hanoi Tourism Development Linkage Conference," the event also opens up opportunities to connect investors, businesses, travel companies, organizations, and individuals to cooperate in developing agricultural products, cuisine, culture, and tourism in Lai Chau, contributing to expanding the tourist market, stimulating tourism demand, creating a sustainable tourism development link between provinces in the Northwest region, and forming a supply chain of unique, attractive, and friendly quality tourism products.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Tien Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that "tourism development is one of the province's 10 key tasks; focusing on building a program to preserve and promote the fine traditional cultural identity of the ethnic groups in conjunction with the goal of tourism development, gradually becoming an important economic sector of the province, a safe and attractive destination in the Northwest region, building unique, distinctive, professional, sustainable and integrated tourism products."
Mr. Chu Xuan Dung, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, also shared that strengthening cooperation in tourism development between Lai Chau and Hanoi is of great importance, making a positive contribution to the overall socio-economic development of the two localities and the whole country; and "requested that tourism associations, tourism clubs, and the business community in Hanoi and other localities continue to cooperate and actively respond to tourism development activities implemented by the two provinces and cities."
