“Brilliant colors of Lai Chau” is the theme of the series of activities in the event “Lai Chau Cultural Day in Hanoi” 2020 which opened last night (December 18) and lasted until December 20 at the Octagonal house space, walking street and Hoan Kiem lake.
During the event, many activities imbued with Lai Chau's cultural identity were organized, such as reenactments of cultural spaces and unique spiritual rituals of some ethnic groups such as Thai, Mong, Lu...; folk art performances with many traditional folk melodies; introduction of traditional crafts; experience of folk games; enjoy pre-processed ethnic cuisine such as smoked meat, dried bamboo shoots, Oolong tea...
In particular, visitors cannot miss more than 20 booths displaying, introducing and promoting nearly 100 OCOP products, agricultural products and specialties of Lai Chau. Besides, there is a space for displaying beautiful photos of the land and people of Lai Chau and booths introducing and promoting Lai Chau tourism.
With these activities, the event promoted and introduced the image of Lai Chau land and people; unique and distinctive cultural values, OCOP products, agricultural products and local specialties as well as potential, strengths, and attractive tourist destinations to the public.
At the same time, through the organization of the Conference "Linking Lai Chau - Hanoi tourism development", the event also opened up opportunities to connect investors, businesses, travel companies, units and individuals to cooperate in developing agricultural products, cuisine, culture and tourism in Lai Chau, contributing to expanding the tourist market, stimulating tourism demand, creating sustainable tourism development links between the provinces in the Northwest region, forming a supply chain of unique, attractive and friendly quality tourism products.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Tien Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Lai Chau province affirmed that "tourism development is one of the 10 key tasks of the province; in which, focusing on building a program to preserve and promote the fine traditional cultural identity of the nation associated with the goal of developing tourism, gradually becoming an important economic sector of the province, a safe and attractive destination in the Northwest region, building unique, different, professional, sustainable and integrated tourism products".
Mr. Chu Xuan Dung - Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee also shared that strengthening and cooperating in developing tourism between Lai Chau and Hanoi is very important, contributing positively to the common socio-economic development of the two localities and the whole country; at the same time, "requesting tourism associations, tourism clubs and the business community of Hanoi and other localities to continue to accompany and actively respond to tourism development activities implemented by the two provinces and cities".
