This is one of the activities included in the tourism development cooperation program between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta, specifically the provinces in the Eastern Mekong Delta Tourism Development Cluster.

Ben Tre and Tra Vinh are two provinces in the eastern coastal sub-region of the Mekong Delta, situated between the Tien and Hau rivers and bordering the East Sea. This region enjoys favorable weather conditions and is characterized by its transition from a delta to a coastal area. Ben Tre province's strengths lie in river tourism, orchard tourism, and resort tourism, leveraging the ecological advantages of its coconut-growing region. Meanwhile, Tra Vinh's strength lies in community-based tourism, particularly cultural tourism, as it is a region reflecting the long-standing cultural transition from a delta to a coastal area. It is a place where three ethnic groups – Kinh, Khmer, and Hoa – have lived together for generations, forming a multi-ethnic culture with numerous temples, pagodas, churches, and traditional festivals. Notably, Ben Tre and Tra Vinh are connected by the Co Chien Bridge and both border the East Sea, enjoying convenient transportation links by both land and water.

These factors provide an excellent foundation for Ben Tre and Tra Vinh to collaborate in promoting tourism at this time, effectively boosting tourism development based on the exploitation and utilization of local resources. This will enhance the connection of tours and destinations, and promote cooperation in investment, trade, and tourism services. The combination of the two provinces facilitates the introduction of the image, products, tourism services, and traditional culture of both localities, enriching tourism products without duplication; each province will have its own unique tourism products, creating greater appeal for tourists visiting Ben Tre and Tra Vinh.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Duong Hoang Sum, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tra Vinh province, shared: "It is not by chance that Ben Tre province and Tra Vinh province chose this very special way to connect the products of the two localities; this is the culmination of a journey with many experiences. This will be an important domestic tourism market for the Mekong Delta provinces in the future."

With this promotional program, Ben Tre - Tra Vinh tourism also aims to strengthen tourism development linkages between Ben Tre - Tra Vinh and tourism businesses nationwide, especially cooperating with tourism businesses in Hanoi in a professional, modern direction and approaching the tourism service supply chain, shifting from quantity to quality, focusing on key areas, improving efficiency and professionalism in tourism activities of the two provinces in particular, of the Mekong Delta region and the whole country in general, and together building the image of a quality, friendly and safe destination.
