At the ceremony, the representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced the decision of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to recognize the “Fish-praying Festival in Khanh Hoa” as a national intangible cultural heritage. On behalf of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr. Le Xuan Than awarded the certificate of recognition of the “Fish-praying Festival in Khanh Hoa” as a national intangible cultural heritage to 46 communal houses that organize this festival.

Hat Ba Trao - an indispensable part of the Fishing Festivals.
The fishing festival originates from the worship of Ong Nam Hai - a long-standing custom of coastal residents from the North Central region to the South, in which the South Central region is typical, typically Khanh Hoa. Currently, the fishing festival in Khanh Hoa still preserves traditional rituals with the following ceremonies: the royal procession ceremony, Nghinh Ong ceremony, Ho Ba Trao, Tinh Sanh ceremony, Te Chanh ceremony, Thu Le and Ton Vuong ceremony, Tong Na ceremony.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Xuan Than emphasized: With many traditional art forms, folk performances, folk games, the fishing festival in Khanh Hoa is a festival of coastal villages, having a profound impact on the lives of coastal residents. Preserving and promoting the value of the fishing festival will contribute to preserving traditional culture, educating love for the homeland, demonstrating the process of conquering and mastering the sea and islands of the fishing community of Khanh Hoa in particular, and Vietnam in general.
