Recently, Lego has released a replica model of the famous Titanic ship. This is one of the largest models the company has ever produced, with 9,090 pieces, promising to become an ideal model for those who love lego assembly as well as ship enthusiasts.
The Titanic model is divided into three sections, with extremely detailed interior designs, such as: a grand first-class staircase spanning six decks, a Jacobean-style restaurant and an engine room.
With its large size, the model also allows players to create some other amazing details, not just stopping at the lifeboat, cargo crane, swimming pool or promenade on the ship; players can also operate the details in the ship such as raising or lowering the anchor and adjusting the tension between the masts.
Mike Psiaki, a designer at the Lego Group, said the Titanic's voyage was a major inspiration for recreating the iconic ship from Lego pieces. "When it was launched, the Titanic was the pinnacle of naval engineering, the largest ocean-going vessel of its time."
“The design of the Lego Titanic focuses on small details and follows the absolute scale and precision, making Titanic one of our most challenging building experiences to date. We know that Lego builders and ship enthusiasts of all ages will love this product, build it and display it in their homes,” Psiaki expressed his hope.
The Lego Titanic model is over 1.3 meters long, including a plaque with the name of the ship. The model will be available for online orders from November 1, then it will be on the shelves of Lego stores starting November 8 for 629.99 USD (more than 14 million VND).
Lego Titanic is one of the largest models the company has produced with 9,090 pieces, this ship has beaten the record of lego Roman Colosseum with 9,036 pieces. In which, the assembly set with the most pieces currently belongs to lego Art World Map, consisting of 11,695 pieces, however this is not a model but a world map 105 cm long, 65 cm high and can be hung on the wall.
More information
The real Titanic, which began its journey from Southampton (England) to New York (USA) in April 1912, was the largest, most modern and magnificent ship for luxury guests at that time with the ambition to dominate the transatlantic sea route. However, on its first and last voyage, the ship hit an iceberg and sank less than three hours later, leaving more than 1,500 people on board with no chance of returning.
The legendary Titanic in real life
To this day, the ship is still considered a symbol of the maritime industry and is often known as the "Titanic Disaster", and has become the inspiration for many literary, artistic and cinematic works around the world.
