On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2nd, a military parade will take place at Ba Dinh Square and the central streets of Hanoi. According to the plan, the celebration and the military parade will start at 6:30 am.
To prepare carefully for the anniversary celebration and parade activities, the preliminary rehearsal will be held at 9:00 p.m. on August 27 (reserve for August 28); the general rehearsal will be held at 7:00 a.m. on August 30 (reserve for August 31).
Regarding the organization of forces, there will be six forces participating in the parade: the traditional torch-carrying force and the fire-stand guard; the ceremonial artillery force; the air force flying the salute; the parade force; the background force; the formation and letter formation force.
After the traditional torch-lighting ceremony and flag-raising ceremony, the leaders will give important speeches. The highlight of the ceremony is the parade, which starts at 7:45. This is a grand performance, ending with a special art performance. The event is expected to attract about 30,000 attendees, not to mention the forces directly participating in the parade.
The parade program includes: First is the traditional torch procession. Second is the ceremonial fireworks. Third is the air force salute. Fourth is the march of the blocks.
This year's parade and marching formation is large-scale with a total of 18 standing groups and 43 marching groups. A special highlight is the participation of female groups, with 7 female groups from the Army and 2 female groups from the Police, representing forces such as the Military Band, Military Medicine, Traffic Police... In addition to the ground parade forces, the event also has the participation of tank groups and naval ships, demonstrating the strong development and modernization of the armed forces. In addition, a number of foreign military groups such as Laos and Cambodia have also confirmed their participation, contributing to increasing the international significance of the ceremony.
The Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security have directed the organization of training for forces participating in this mission since the beginning of May 2025. Four joint training sessions were organized and two combined training sessions were organized on July 17 and most recently on August 5.
In parallel with the activities in the capital, the sea parade will also be held in Cam Ranh, Khanh Hoa, at the same time as the parade in Hanoi. After the groups march past the stage, they will continue to move through the central streets to interact and express their feelings to the people.
The blocks and forces through the joint training and combined training, the quality is good and the implementation is in accordance with the determined training program. Currently, the spirit, responsibility as well as health and technical conditions of the blocks are ready to carry out official tasks.
Cultural and artistic activities will also be held at the Quan Ngua Cultural Palace and August Revolution Square, creating a vibrant festival atmosphere. The entire series of events aims to affirm the great will and great historical value of the August Revolution, while demonstrating the strong development of the People's Army, Militia and Self-Defense Force and People's Public Security over the past 80 years under the wise leadership of the Party.
