In the early morning of April 30, soldiers of the Logistics and Engineering Department, Military Region 7, with a high sense of responsibility and deep sympathy, launched a program to give away dry food and mineral water completely free of charge to people who were patiently waiting to witness the parade and march to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
At Dinh Tien Hoang Street, one of the main traffic routes leading into the city center, the atmosphere became more bustling when military vehicles loaded with practical gifts stopped. People lined up in an orderly manner to receive packages of dry food and bottles of mineral water from the soldiers.
Many people and tourists decided to stay up all night, eagerly awaiting the parade.
Bright smiles were evident on everyone’s faces, expressing their gratitude for the kindness of Uncle Ho’s soldiers. Many young people could not hide their excitement, immediately opening the dry food package and enjoying the special flavor of this familiar dish in the army, sharing that this was the first time they had the opportunity to experience this flavor.
Early morning on April 30, on many streets in the central area of Ho Chi Minh City, soldiers from the Logistics and Technical Department, Military Region 7, distributed free dry food and mineral water to people waiting to watch the parade.

At the same time, at around 4:30 a.m. on April 30, at the Dien Bien Phu - Hai Ba Trung intersection, soldiers from the Logistics - Technical Department of Military Region 7 also began to distribute these meaningful gifts. Although it was still very early, a large number of people gathered here, carrying excitement and pride to witness the historic event of the nation. When the packages of dry food and bottles of mineral water were handed out, sincere thanks were sent to the soldiers, creating a warm and emotional scene of "warm military-civilian affection" in the early morning of history.
Close military-civilian relationship in peacetime
To ensure the needs of the majority of people and tourists, the Ho Chi Minh City Command has prepared and gathered a large quantity of goods, estimated at about 400 barrels of mineral water. During the morning of April 30, the unit planned to deploy up to 25 working groups at 6 key locations across the city to carry out the task of distributing filtered water, yogurt, milk boxes, cakes and especially dry food, practical necessities to help people have more energy while waiting and watching the parade and marching activities. This careful and thoughtful preparation demonstrates the City Command's deep concern for all aspects of people's lives during the important holidays.
Officers and soldiers of the Ho Chi Minh City Command brought water to each seat of the people and tourists to offer them.
Young people are excited about this "simple but special" gift

Not only stopping at supporting people on the official holiday, from April 9 to 30, the Ho Chi Minh City Command chaired and closely coordinated with relevant units to implement a comprehensive support program for military forces participating in parade training and marching at the Military School of Military Region 7. This program includes ensuring logistics, providing all necessary necessities, from drinking water, food to the best living conditions for officers and soldiers throughout the arduous and serious training process. This concern continues to be maintained in joint training sessions, preliminary rehearsals, general rehearsals and in the solemnly held Celebration Ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City.
These practical and meaningful activities of the Ho Chi Minh City Command and the soldiers of Military Region 7 not only contribute to ensuring the health and comfort of the people and armed forces during the important holidays but also are a vivid demonstration of the close relationship between the army and the people like fish and water. In the joyful atmosphere of the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification, these warm actions further deepen the meaning of the holiday, affirm the strength of the great national unity bloc and highlight the beautiful image of the soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army in the hearts of the people.
