Hang Ngo is an office worker at a furniture company in Hanoi. Speaking to Travellive, Hang shared that she is a travel enthusiast, enjoying traveling, exploring, and experiencing new places and making new connections. In particular, her job isn't too demanding, so she has plenty of time to plan her trips.
"I tend to choose experiential travel over relaxing vacations, so my destinations are mostly unspoiled mountainous areas and islands," Hang Ngo said.
Reportedly, the office worker had planned two trips to Ly Son Island, but both were unsuccessful. Previously, Hang Ngo had to cancel her tickets due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the storm that hit Ly Son. Therefore, she was determined to make this trip no matter what.

"I chose to visit Ly Son Island in June, when the weather is quite stable and ideal," Hang Ngo said.
Choosing to travel to central Vietnam during the summer, she felt fortunate because the weather wasn't too harsh. Ly Son Island had plenty of sunshine without being stiflingly hot. Thanks to the clear skies, Hang Ngo fully enjoyed every moment of sunrise and sunset over the sea.
"The scenery here is beautiful, with blue sea and white sand, and the people are very friendly too," Hang Ngo commented.
However, she noted that although Ly Son is still relatively undeveloped, it has begun to develop tourism. Therefore, Ly Son will inevitably face negative aspects such as aggressive touting and harassment of tourists. She hopes that the authorities will take strict action in the future to avoid negatively impacting tourists and the image of the island.

Through her experience, Hang Ngo found that Ly Son Island is far from the mainland, so the people there still lack many things, especially clean water. She was surprised to find that the water used for washing and bathing at the homestay was still salty, leaving her skin feeling sticky after showering. Clean water and drinking water are very scarce, so people have to be very careful to conserve water resources. People have to buy 20-liter bottles of drinking water to use gradually.

Ly Son Island District consists of two islands, Big Island and Small Island, with a natural area of just under 10 square kilometers. Hang Ngo only needs to spend 4 days and 4 nights on the island to have enough time to explore every corner of Ly Son.
"In Ly Son, you just need to point your camera and you'll get beautiful pictures. We just wander around and stop to take photos of whatever we like," Hang Ngo shared. Hang Ngo's photos were taken at famous locations such as Be Island, the flagpole, Thoi Loi mountain peak, Cau Cave, To Vo Gate, Mu Cu Island, etc.
Ly Son is a beautiful small island well worth experiencing. The main island gets very crowded with tourists on weekends, making it quite lively and bustling. If you want to enjoy peace and quiet, you should go to the smaller island and stay overnight.
Additionally, Hang Ngo noted that the best time to visit is during the summer months of April to June, when the weather is not too harsh but still sunny enough. Tourists visiting Ly Son should bring sunscreen and motion sickness medication to protect their health.
