Located within the UNESCO-recognized World Heritage site of Ninh Binh province, the Trang An eco-tourism area is situated in the natural mountain range that formed the citadel of the ancient Hoa Lu capital. Surrounded by mountains, each peak conceals enchanting caves, interconnected by waterways stretching for kilometers. The cave system here is incredibly diverse in form and type, each cave possessing its own unique character with tens of thousands of stalactites and stalagmites of countless shapes and forms, created by the dissolution and deposition of limestone over millions of years. All of this creates a beautiful and majestic landscape, leading many visitors to liken it to a "Ha Long Bay on land."

The cave system in Trang An, while not dazzling, magnificent, or fantastical with its stalactite and stalagmite formations, boasts a diverse array of caves, each with its own unique character. Notable examples include: Seo Cave, a deep and winding cave with an entrance overgrown with trees; Ba Giot Cave, with its stalactites resembling droplets of water; Nau Ruou Cave, with its many ancient jars and pots, traditionally believed to be where wine was brewed for the royal court; Dia Linh Cave, with its low, narrow entrance; Khong Cave, a shimmering and magical cave; and many other unique caves.

Also located within the Trang An eco-tourism area, Bai Dinh Pagoda is a must-see destination for tourists. Not only is it impressive for its magnificent architecture spanning 107 hectares, with the Tam The and Phap Chu temples covering thousands of square meters, but the pagoda also holds 12 Vietnamese and Asian records, such as having the largest bronze bell, the largest bronze set of Tam The statues in Vietnam, the tallest and heaviest bronze statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, the heaviest bronze Eight Vajra statues, the largest bronze Maitreya Buddha statue, and the tallest and heaviest bronze statues of the Good and Evil deities…
