The most dangerous roads in the world

There are roads in the world that just looking at them is enough to make your heart skip a beat. However, these roads have many interesting things that many tourists want to explore.

1. Zoji La, India

This 9km long road, located at an altitude of 3528m above sea level, connects the two valleys of Ladakh and Kashmir, India. Every day, people still drive vehicles and raise livestock despite the road being very narrow and extremely dangerous. The most dangerous thing is that this road has no barriers.

2.Transfăgărășan, Romania

Transfăgărășan is located in the Carpathian Mountains and runs through the Făgăraș massif. With a length of 2034 meters, it is one of the most famous roads not only in Romania, but also in Europe and the world because of its extremely majestic and beautiful landscape as well as its level of danger. Transfăgărășan is also known by other names such as “Road to Heaven” or “The most beautiful driving road in the world”.

3. Dalton Highway, Alaska, USA

The Dalton Highway was built to support the Trans-Alaska Pipeline in 1974. Despite being 666 km long, the Dalton Highway connects only 3 small villages, making it the snowiest and most isolated highway in the world. What makes this road so scary is that for 400 km there are no gas stations, restaurants or hotels.

4. Khardung La, India

Khardung La is the gateway to the Shyok and Nubra valleys in India. Built in 1976, it has been used for many mountaineering expeditions since 1988. Khardung La is recognized by Guinness as the highest mountain pass in the world at 5602 meters.

5. Atlantic Ocean Road, Norway

The Atlantic Ocean Road is considered “Norway’s Construction of the Century” and is 8.3 km long, connecting small coastal villages. Although the road is quite winding and dangerous, it still attracts many tourists because of its “breathtakingly beautiful” scenery.

6. Guoliang Tunnel, China

The Guoliang Tunnel was built by the local people to connect the villages with the outside world. Later, the government decided to build a new, safer 1200 meter tunnel to make it easier for the people to travel.

7. Le Passage du Gois, France

The unique Le Passage du Gois is 4.5 km long and is only open to traffic for a few hours a day. At high tide, the entire road is submerged in seawater with a depth of between 1.3m and 4m.

8. Tianmen Mountain Road, China

Tianmen Mountain Road, China is 10 km long, but has 99 slopes. Surely the driver must have nerves of steel to dare to cross this road. However, this place is considered the transition point between heaven and earth because of its height straight up to the sky. After going all the way, you will have to climb 999 steps, you will set foot on the "Gate of Heaven"
