Below is a list of locations that will be holding fireworks displays on New Year's Day 2024 to celebrate the new year.
Locations for New Year's Eve fireworks display in Ho Chi Minh City in 2024.
According to the plan for New Year's Eve celebrations in 2024 by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the artistic fireworks display will take place for 15 minutes, from 0:00 to 0:15 on January 1, 2024, at two locations:
- High-altitude firing point at the entrance to the Saigon River tunnel.
- Low-altitude viewing point at Dam Sen Cultural Park, District 11.
The New Year's Eve countdown program for 2024 will take place on the evening of December 31, 2023, at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument Park and Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, District 1.

On December 19th, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued a document agreeing with the proposal of the People's Committee of Lao Cai province to organize a low-altitude fireworks display in Sa Pa town for the 2024 New Year's Day celebration.
According to this plan, the fireworks display, organized by the Lao Cai Provincial Tourism Association in coordination with the Sa Pa Town People's Committee, will take place at 0:00 on January 1, 2024, in the Quan Square area, Sa Pa Ward. The duration of the display will not exceed 15 minutes. This program will not use state budget funds.
This is one of the activities in a series of programs celebrating the 120th anniversary of Sa Pa and welcoming the New Year 2023, organized by the Sa Pa Tourism Association and Sa Pa town.
Locations for New Year's Eve fireworks display in Hai Phong in 2024.
The city of Hai Phong will organize a low-altitude fireworks display after the conclusion of the "Hai Phong - Welcoming the New Year 2024" art program. The display will last no more than 15 minutes, starting at 0:00 on January 1, 2024, in the area of the Hai Phong City Theater. Funding for this event will be raised through social contributions.
This is the first time Hai Phong city has launched low-altitude fireworks on New Year's Day, aiming to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere for the people to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2024 (Year of the Dragon) and the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 – February 3, 2024).
The city has directed relevant units to organize the art program "Hai Phong - Welcoming the New Year 2024," which aims to affirm and review the outstanding achievements of the Party Committee, government, military, and people of the city in 2023; and to encourage and inspire all sectors of the city's population to continue striving for many victories in 2024.

With the approval of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Quang Binh will organize a single fireworks display to welcome the New Year 2024 on the night of December 31st at the Regal Legend project of the investor Regal Group (Vo Nguyen Giap Street, Bao Ninh Commune, Dong Hoi City).
The fireworks display is part of an international music festival and New Year's Eve countdown, expected to attract 10,000 spectators. The main stage will be located in Angel Park – the largest park in the 21-hectare urban area – and will be open to all visitors free of charge.

According to the plan, the Countdown - Welcome to the New Year 2024 program, titled "The Spirit of the Lam River," will take place from 9:15 PM to midnight on December 31, 2023, at Ho Chi Minh Square, Vinh City. The highlight of the program is a 15-minute low-altitude fireworks display starting at midnight on January 1, 2024.
How many days off will workers get for New Year's Day 2024?
According to Article 112 of the 2019 Labor Code, employees are entitled to one day off with full pay on New Year's Day (January 1st).
However, since January 1, 2024 falls on a Monday, employees will have a day off coinciding with the two previous weekend days, Saturday, December 30, 2023, and Sunday, December 31, 2023 (for officials, civil servants, and employees in units with a fixed 2-day weekend schedule of Saturday and Sunday).
Therefore, the total number of days off for workers during the 2024 New Year holiday is 3 days (from December 30, 2023 to January 1, 2024).
Employees working at units with a one-day-off-week schedule (Sundays) will have a two-day New Year's Day holiday in 2024 (from December 31, 2023 to January 1, 2024).
