Below is a list of localities that will organize fireworks displays on New Year's Eve 2024 to celebrate the new year.
New Year's Eve 2024 fireworks display locations in Ho Chi Minh City
According to the plan to organize activities to welcome the new year 2024 of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the fireworks display will take place for 15 minutes, from 0:00 to 0:15 on January 1, 2024, with 2 shooting locations:
- High-altitude shooting point at the beginning of the Saigon River tunnel.
- Low point at Dam Sen Cultural Park, District 11.
The countdown program to welcome the new year 2024 will take place on the evening of December 31, 2023, at President Ho Chi Minh Monument Park and Nguyen Hue walking street, District 1.
Fireworks display location for New Year's Eve 2024 in Lao Cai
On December 19, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued a document agreeing with the proposal of the People's Committee of Lao Cai province to organize a low-altitude fireworks display on the occasion of New Year 2024 in Sa Pa town.
According to this plan, the fireworks display program will be organized by the Lao Cai Provincial Tourism Association in coordination with the People's Committee of Sa Pa town at 0:00 on January 1, 2024 at the Quan San area, Sa Pa ward. The duration of the display will not exceed 15 minutes. This program does not use the State budget.
This is one of the activities in the series of programs celebrating the 120th anniversary of Sa Pa and welcoming the new year 2023 of Sa Pa Tourism Association and Sa Pa town.
New Year's Eve 2024 fireworks display location in Hai Phong
Hai Phong City will organize a low-altitude fireworks display after the end of the art program "Hai Phong - Welcome New Year 2024", lasting no more than 15 minutes, starting at 0:00 on January 1, 2024 at the Hai Phong City Theater area. Funding for implementation will be mobilized from socialized sources.
This is the first time Hai Phong city has set off low-altitude fireworks on the occasion of New Year, to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere to serve the people on the occasion of welcoming the New Year of Giap Thin 2024 and celebrating the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2024).
The city has directed relevant units to organize the art program "Hai Phong - Welcome New Year 2024" with the content of affirming and reviewing the outstanding achievements of the Party Committee, government, army and people of the city in 2023; encouraging and motivating all classes of people of the city to continue to strive for many victories in 2024.

New Year's Eve 2024 fireworks display location in Quang Binh
With the approval of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Quang Binh will organize a single fireworks display to welcome the new year 2024 on the night of December 31 at the Regal Legend project of investor Regal Group (Vo Nguyen Giap Street, Bao Ninh Commune, Dong Hoi City).
The fireworks show is part of the international music festival and New Year's countdown, expected to attract 10,000 spectators. The main stage will be located at Angel Park - the largest park in the 21-hectare urban area - and will be open to all visitors.
Fireworks display location for New Year's Eve 2024 in Nghe An
As planned, the Countdown - New Year 2024 program named "Heroic Spirit of Lam River" will take place from 9:15 pm to midnight on December 31, 2023 at Ho Chi Minh Square, Vinh City. The highlight of the program is the 15-minute low-altitude fireworks display starting at 0:00 on January 1, 2024.
New Year 2024, how many days off do workers get?
According to Article 112 of the 2019 Labor Code, on the occasion of the New Year every year, employees will be given 1 day off (January 1 of the Gregorian calendar) with full pay.
However, because January 1, 2024 falls on Monday, employees will have the same two previous weekend days off as Saturday, December 30, 2023 and Sunday, December 31, 2023 (for officials, civil servants, public employees, and employees in units with a fixed two-day off schedule of Saturday and Sunday every week).
Thus, the total number of days off for New Year 2024 for employees is 3 days (from December 30, 2023 to January 1, 2024).
Employees working at units with 1 day off/week (Sunday) will have a 2-day New Year holiday in 2024 (from December 31, 2023 to January 1, 2024).
