Ideal diving spots in Vietnam

Being able to touch fish and coral is an exciting feeling for those who enjoy exploring the seabed.

Nha Trang

Hon Mun Island is famous among scuba diving enthusiasts. Visitors can dive down to admire the beauty of over 300 species of coral and thousands of species of fish. While diving here, visitors will be captivated by the ecosystem, with schools of fish swimming playfully among the coral reefs, resembling a vibrant forest of flowers.

If you don't like snorkeling, you can admire the coral reefs from a glass-bottom boat at Yen Island - Hon Noi. However, the feeling of sitting on a boat and gazing at the ocean is not as satisfying as directly diving deep into the sea, being able to touch the fish and coral with your own hands, which is an incredibly exciting experience.

While not as deep as Hon Mun, Monkey Island boasts crystal-clear waters and beautiful coral reefs, providing a habitat for many marine species. Located in Nha Phu Lagoon, Monkey Island is known as Hon Lao on maps, but because it is home to 1,200 monkeys, it's commonly called Monkey Island.

Visitors can climb the rocky outcrops, follow the small paths to the beach, and from there wade out with the guide until the water reaches shoulder level before starting to snorkel. The seawater is so clear that with just goggles and your face in the water, you can see colorful coral reefs and schools of fish swimming freely.

The Son Tra Peninsula truly deserves its reputation as a gift from nature, boasting a diverse and rich nature reserve, a unique vegetation, and many rare wild animals. Diving deep into the water, beauty unfolds everywhere, from the azure blue of the water to patches of orange, green, and crimson. Visitors can also hear the rustling sound of healthy, pristine coral reefs. This area is not only home to strangely shaped corals resembling tabletops and deer antlers, but also to many species of small fish.

Immersing oneself in the crystal-clear water, gazing at coral reefs of all shapes and colors, and watching many species of ornamental fish swimming freely before one's eyes is a wonderful experience for visitors who come here.

Phu Quoc Island

Phu Quoc is a place that truly helps people escape the hustle and bustle of city life. The island is ideal for tourists to explore nature, enjoy the scenery, go fishing, swim, and snorkel. The sea here boasts fine sand beaches, clear and deep water, with some areas reaching depths of up to 30 meters.

This area is still quite pristine, and visitors can go diving in the northwestern part of the island or around the small archipelago in the south.

The best time for scuba diving in Vietnam is from May to July, when the sea is calm and very clear, with visibility of about 20-30 meters. The period from November to February each year is the least popular for scuba diving due to strong winds and rough seas.

Cat Ba Island

The Cat Ba archipelago comprises 367 islands, including Cat Ba Island, located in the southern part of Ha Long Bay, off the coast of Hai Phong city and Quang Ninh province. It is approximately 30 km from the center of Hai Phong city and 25 km from Ha Long city. It has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve.

Cat Ba is a beautiful and romantic island, situated at an average altitude of 70 meters above sea level, making it ideal for scuba diving. Beneath the rocky reefs at the foot of the island lie clusters of red coral teeming with valuable seafood such as abalone, pearls, lobster, and schools of colorful fish, giving the place a rare and vibrant beauty.
