For decades, China was known as a country of boring concrete buildings. However, nowadays, architectural designs in China are more creative, with some buildings even becoming... bizarre.

Star Trek Business Building - Fuzhou, Fujian

The building was constructed by NetDragon Websoft founder Liu Dejian, who is also a fan of the popular science fiction series Star Trek. This $97 million building was constructed to house the game developers' offices. Inside, there are metal slides for employees to move between floors, automatic sliding doors between rooms, and a giant replica of a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

The Piano House - Hoai Nam

Located in Huainan, China, this house is a favorite among music lovers. Built by architecture students at Hefei University of Technology in 2007, it is now used by the city as a gallery. Many locals even call it "China's most romantic building."

The headquarters of China Central Television - Beijing

This building has 54 floors, stands 234 meters tall, and is shaped like two inverted "L"s joined at the base. It's where most of China's television programs are filmed, produced, and broadcast. Since its completion in 2008, it has become an iconic landmark among Beijing's skyscrapers.

Lotus Building - Changzhou

Built by the Australian architectural firm Studio 505, this stunning structure mimics the shape of a lotus flower and sits atop a lake. The entrance can be found beneath the lake, and inside are meeting rooms, a conference center, and exhibition spaces. In reality, it's primarily used for symbolic display rather than practical purposes.

Ring of Life - Fushun, Liaoning

Costing $16 million (over 37 billion VND), this stunning structure stands 156 meters tall, shaped like a giant steel ring, and illuminated by 12,000 LED lights at night. During major Chinese holidays, you can stand on the top floor of the building and see all the festivities taking place, including fireworks along the riverbank.

Tianzi Hotel - Beijing

The Tianzi Hotel features a facade adorned with three giant statues of the gods of Fortune, Prosperity, and Longevity. Also known as the Son of Heaven, the hotel was recognized by the Guinness World Records in 2011 as having the "largest building image."

These towers, situated between the airport and the city of Beijing, were designed by architect Zaha Hadid and are named as such because they resemble three giant mountains nestled within the modern city. The interior spaces are used for offices and retail shops.

This building, shaped like giant red wands, showcases a blend of traditional and modern styles. It is used to display artwork and host art programs and events.

Henan Art Center - Zhengzhou, Henan

This building is shaped like giant eggs with two wide glass wings to resemble Tang Dynasty musical instruments unearthed in Henan. Inside, it includes a grand theater, concert hall, multi-functional theater, and art gallery.

Wuliangye Yibin Building - Sichuan

Designed in the shape of a wine bottle, this building houses the headquarters of Wuliangye Yibin, a company specializing in the production of alcoholic beverages. Additionally, the streets surrounding the building are also shaped like beverage packaging, with small wine bottle-shaped statues lining the roads.

Sheraton Hotel - Huzhou

This 27-story building, constructed of glass and steel, is shaped like a horseshoe and sits in the middle of Taihu Lake. Designed by architect Yansong Ma and built by the Shanghai Feizhou Group, it is a luxury hotel and resort complex featuring over 300 rooms, villas, parking, a wellness center, restaurants, cafes, and more.
