If you want to admire breathtaking scenery stretching as far as the eye can see, then traveling by train is the ideal choice. Bui Ngoc Cong, also known as Rot, a travel creator currently living in Hanoi, recently shared his wonderful feelings about his train trip from Hue to Da Nang.
Sharing with Travellive, Ngoc Cong said: “The journey from Hue to Da Nang isn't too far, and I've been there a few times before, so this time was no exception. I really enjoy traveling by train because you can see so many beautiful sights, especially on Hai Van Pass. It's not just me; every time the train rolls through the pass, almost every passenger chooses the best spot to admire the beautiful scenery and nature outside. That's the biggest reason I decided to take the train.”
Instead of traveling by car or motorbike from Hue to Da Nang, Ngoc Cong chose to travel by train and had many interesting experiences.
Ngoc Cong suggests that tourists book train tickets early, about 3-4 days in advance, to ensure they have a ticket before experiencing the journey. They can choose a 4-berth compartment, or especially a 2-berth sleeping compartment, for maximum comfort; of course, tickets for these compartments will be more expensive than 6-berth compartments or seats. Da Nang city is nearly 100 km from Hue, taking over three hours to travel by train.
“On my last trip, I chose a seat with a ticket price of 110,000 VND. Regarding seating orientation, if you're going from Da Nang to Hue, choose a seat on the right, and vice versa. Booking tickets is very easy; you can go to the website dsvn.vn or download the Train Ticket app and book,” said Ngoc Cong.
Looking out from the train windows, you'll see a pristine and peaceful landscape, a lush green Hai Van Pass, or stretches of fine white and golden sand.
The image of the train, with its blue and red colors, rumbling along the winding tracks, its clattering sounds, makes passengers feel as if they are transported into a nostalgic film.
According to him, compared to other means of transportation, traveling by train is quite safe, but it takes longer. In return, standing on the train and admiring the beautiful nature before you—the vast ocean, lush green trees, majestic mountains, and azure bays—is a wonderful experience. At times, you're enveloped in the somber darkness as you pass through tunnels, only to be greeted by the sparkling sunlight afterward. Only by experiencing it yourself will you understand how special this train journey is.
"Amidst the somewhat weary atmosphere, the passengers seemed to have run out of energy. Somewhere, a few people opened the curtains and looked out the window, suddenly feeling a sense of lightness in their hearts. The window was a vibrant blue, the sea stretched out in the distance, and the train sped along, taking tourists on a journey through a range of emotions," Ngoc Cong said.
The travel time from Hue to Da Nang is approximately over 3 hours.
Immerse yourself in the boundless beauty of nature, with towering mountains on one side and the deep blue sea on the other.
Traveling by train has the advantage of high safety.
Traveling by train has the advantage of high safety, and on board you can freely admire the beautiful scenery that you can only see while traveling. However, the drawback of this form of travel is that it is quite time-consuming and sometimes delayed. Despite this, it is still a worthwhile experience and offers many new possibilities.
"I love capturing small moments, I don't want anything staged, I prefer things to be natural, and that's how I created this photo series during an exciting journey like this."
