The Asian Project Market (APM) 2021, held within the framework of the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea, was initially launched to provide aspiring filmmakers in the region with an opportunity to meet leading film professionals internationally. It has now developed into the most prestigious and largest Project Market in Asia.
Previously, APM announced 25 projects from 15 countries, including two Vietnamese works: "Memento Mori: Water" by director Marcus Manh Cuong Vu and "If wood could cry, it would cry blood" by director Nguyen Phan Linh Dan. On October 14th, the organizers announced that "If wood could cry, it would cry blood" won the ArteKino International Award, worth 6,000 EUR (approximately 158 million VND). The award is given by Arte France - a leading and prestigious film brand in France - to promising projects.
