Dubbed "unsinkable," the Titanic nevertheless sank on its maiden voyage in 1912 after striking an iceberg in the Atlantic Ocean, claiming the lives of approximately 1,500 people.

The legendary Titanic will be recreated in China, with the hope of becoming a tourist attraction. The replica will be similar in length to the original, approximately 269 meters. The biggest difference from the "original" Titanic is that the replica will not sail. It will sit on the riverbank at an amusement park in Sichuan province, about 1,000 kilometers from the sea.

To spend a night on the ship and enjoy 5-star service, tourists need to pay around $150. (Song)My Heart Will Go OnThe song performed by Céline Dion will be played again during the tour. Everything from the dining room to the luxurious cabins and even the doorknobs is styled after the original Titanic. Amenities such as the banquet hall, theater, observation deck, and a swimming pool will also be recreated on board.

Inspired by James Cameron's 1997 film Titanic, the project's developer stated that he wants this replica to last for another 100 or 200 years, preserving the memory of the Titanic. He also hopes to welcome approximately 5 million visitors annually to the replica. However, the opening date has not yet been set.

The construction process will take approximately six years, longer than the construction of the Titanic. The project is expected to require around 23,000 tons of steel, hundreds of workers, and 1 billion yuan (approximately $153.5 million). “The greatest significance of building this ship is to continue and inherit the great spirit of the Titanic. I will invite Jack, Rose, and James Cameron to the inauguration ceremony,” the investor stated.
