20/02/2017

The launch of a tourist route visiting the filming location of Kong: Skull Island is one of the activities implemented in 2017 by Quang Binh's tourism industry.

According to the Quang Binh Department of Tourism, 2017 is considered a pivotal year for joint efforts to overcome difficulties, recover, and develop tourism in Quang Binh.

To achieve that goal, in 2017, Quang Binh tourism strived to welcome 3 million visitors, including 80,000 international visitors; total tourism revenue reached approximately 3,000 billion VND; there were about 300 tourist accommodation establishments with a total of about 8,500 rooms, including at least 10 hotels meeting 3-star standards or higher. The province aimed to continuously improve the quality of tourism services, gradually restore beach tourism, and develop other potentials and advantages of Quang Binh tourism.

Also in 2017, Quang Binh tourism plans to organize and coordinate activities, events, and launch new tourism products to attract tourists: Organizing the "Quang Binh in the Heart of the Capital" program from March 25-27, 2017; the "Quang Binh in Song" art night program at the Hanoi Grand Opera House to provide information and images about Quang Binh tourism to tourists and residents in Hanoi and northern provinces; the "Tu Lan Challenge 2017" program from March 31 to April 3, 2017, with 100 participants competing to conquer the Tu Lan cave system over a distance of nearly 30 km; a Culture and Tourism Week in Dong Hoi City from April 25-30 with many rich, attractive, and diverse activities; the Quang Binh Cave Festival – the world's kingdom of caves...

Furthermore, Quang Binh's tourism industry will focus on improving the quality of tourism services, promoting investment attraction, and developing tourism products. In particular, it will launch new tourism products such as: a tour visiting the Kong: Skull Island film set; a tour conquering Chay Waterfall; a tour experiencing Hamada Valley and Tra Ang Cave; a tour exploring the culture of the Arem and Macoong people; a spiritual tourism route visiting Hoang Phuc Pagoda; and the opening of new high-end accommodation facilities and restaurants meeting new standards.

Furthermore, we will continue to call for investment in developing new, unique, and highly effective tourist routes and destinations, especially those focusing on exploration, experiential, and community-based tourism in the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park area. We will encourage investment in developing water sports services such as surfing, jet skiing, parasailing, sailing, and scuba diving for coral reef viewing; developing ecotourism, spiritual tourism, cultural and historical tourism, and festival tourism; and researching and developing a comprehensive MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism product line.
