Roja Dove and her relationship with Guerlain
Before building the Roja Parfums fragrance empire with its slogan...The Finest Fragrances In The World("the world's finest perfumes"), Roja Dove lived in France for a long time and worked for the perfume house Guerlain.
On September 25, 1977, on his 21st birthday, Roger Bird treated himself to a trip to Paris. On the Champs-Elysee, the Cambridge University Pharmacy student visited the historic Guerlain perfume house. Fate connected Guerlain with Roger Bird and Roja Dove from that moment on.
Twenty-four years later, in 2001, Guerlain's then-global ambassador decided to leave France and build her own Roja Parfums fragrance empire in London, England. This close and effective relationship gradually faded when Guerlain, formerly a family business, changed its business strategy and became a member of the global luxury conglomerate LVMH in 1994. After nearly 180 years and four generations, the Guerlain empire finally yielded to the changing times.
In 2001, Roja Dove left France and established her own fragrance empire, Roja Parfums, in London.
Roja Dove recounted: "Jean-Paul Guerlain, the fourth generation of the Guerlain family, jokingly told me how fortunate he was to have... 180 years of experience. And now he won't be staying with Guerlain and me much longer. To be honest, I'm sad. But the LVMH group is French, so perhaps they understand French values and culture, and they will appreciate one of the oldest perfume houses in France. I hope so."
Today, the original Guerlain boutique still stands proudly on the Champs-Elysee, next to the bustling and beautiful Sephora store, one of the most prominent perfume houses in France. At this Guerlain boutique, you can admire almost all the fragrance creations of France's most important perfume house. Meanwhile, Roja Dove confidently shines in his sophisticated world of perfumery, with his flagship store, Roja Haute Parfumerie, located in the Harrods department store in London. Harrods is also one of the six most important niche perfume destinations in the world. Here, alongside the famous Roja Dove fragrances, you will have the opportunity to admire and experience his unique and discreet perfume creations.

Roja Dove and the United Kingdom
Speaking of Harrods, the British fragrance mecca, its current status as a must-visit destination for any perfume collector in the UK is thanks to Harrods' foresight and keen insight in proactively inviting Roja Dove to collaborate on the Harrods Perfume Lounge, right when he returned to London from Paris.
In 2004, Roja Dove carefully selected the first fragrance names to be included in the Harrods Fragrance Hall, including Clive Christian, Grossmith, Lalique, Caron, Xerjoff, Tom Ford, and many others. Currently, the Fragrance Hall is bustling with a competition of fragrances from Guerlain, Boadicea The Victorious, Creed, Chanel, Dior, Byredo, Nasomatto, and countless other renowned names. Harrods has become an important and proud destination not only for fragrance collectors but also for niche perfume brands themselves. Not stopping there, Roja Dove continues to upgrade the Roja Parfums brand.

He moved the now-overcrowded Fragrance Hall to the quieter sixth floor of the shopping mall. The sixth floor of Harrods, known as the Salon de Parfums, is truly a paradise for collectors of rare perfumes. Here, you'll encounter top perfumers such as Henry Jacques, Frederic Malle, Ex Nihilo, By Kilian, Atelier des Ors, Profumum Roma... The people you meet or who greet you in this Salon de Parfums area are all deeply knowledgeable about fragrances. We come to the Harrods Fragrance Hall to satisfy our olfactory passion, and step up to the Harrods Salon de Parfums to find our own ultra-rare and exclusive fragrance creations, which we won't have the chance to find anywhere else in the world.

The Roja Dove fragrance empire
Speaking of Roja Dove and his world of fragrances, many people say that once you've become acquainted with Roja, it's difficult to fall in love with the perfumes you once owned again.
Roja Dove doesn't call his perfumes expensive or luxurious; he defined them from the very beginning of his fragrance creation process as...The Finest Fragrances In The World"The world's finest quality perfumes."
Back then, in the early 2000s, the average price of a bottle of perfume was around £25, equivalent to about 900,000 Vietnamese dong. Then, Roja Parfums appeared, priced at £295 and £450, which was approximately 10 and 15 million Vietnamese dong, respectively.
Roja Dove said: “Don’t worry about what people think, because that’s something you can never control. You also need to stand up and do something, because if you don’t do it, who will? And if you don’t do it, who will know who you are? I don’t know much about this or that, however, I understand perfumes thoroughly. I proactively decide what my scents will be like. I focus on listening and following my personal experience, accumulated from my time in the fragrance industry.”
"Don't worry about what people think, because that's something you can never control."
And indeed, he didn't care. Roja Dove perfumes are only for serious fragrance lovers. He doesn't give his scents to KOLs or beauty bloggers to curry favor. This infuriated some influencers who felt ignored, leading them to write/discuss Roja Dove perfumes in an overly subjective, even somewhat contemptuous and spiteful way. However, this pioneering and decisive move by Roja Dove also received support from many fragrance artists, including Swiss independent perfumer Andy Tauer and Italian perfumers.MendittorosaRoja Dove clearly expressed his views in the media as follows: perfume belongs to fragrance lovers, not to a few KOLs who actively solicit and decide the fate of fragrances on behalf of their true owners. As a result, even hatred could not reach the respect that fragrance enthusiasts have for Roja Dove. His loyal customers, besides fragrance collectors, include 5-star airlines, luxury hotel groups, long-standing museums, famous contemporary art centers, renowned artists, and leading national politicians...

Currently, Roja Dove has fragrance creations worth hundreds of millions of Vietnamese dong, or even more. However, for collectors, they understand the value of the finished product and appreciate the artist's creativity, making Roja Dove perfumes even more valuable to own. People are happy and proud with each bottle of Roja Dove perfume they possess. The world of Roja Dove fragrances is rich in emotion, created from many cherished memories of his own, such as A Goodnight Kiss dedicated to his mother, Vetiver dedicated to his love, Nuwa – a fragrance honoring his Asian culture, Diaghilev celebrating ballet, Great Brittain and Britannia praising his homeland of England..., or Haute Lux, his favorite fragrance in his perfumery career.
