Entering the most beautiful season of the year – the cloud-hunting season – the number of visitors to Sa Pa remains lower than in the same period of previous years. To attract even more tourists, Lao Cai has launched its biggest tourism stimulus program of the year, "Touch Sa Pa - Touch the Layers of Clouds".
Accordingly, September and October are always the busiest months for tourists visiting Sa Pa each year. However, when storms and heavy rains occur, all guests who had booked rooms in advance call to cancel their reservations. Towards the end of October, a few guests started booking again, but even on the busiest days, the occupancy rate only reached 50%.
To attract even more tourists, Lao Cai has launched its biggest tourism stimulus program of the year, "Touch Sa Pa - Touch the Clouds".
Not only have the number of customers at restaurants serving domestic tourists decreased sharply, but some restaurants serving foreign tourists are also facing the same situation. This has led to travel agencies also being affected in their operations.
To attract tourists during the year-end season, the Lao Cai Provincial Tourism Association has launched a stimulus program called "Touching Sa Pa - Touching the Clouds," attracting more than 130 businesses in the hotel, restaurant, transportation, and entertainment sectors. The tourism stimulus program will run from now until December 30, 2024. During this period, businesses in Sa Pa will simultaneously launch promotional programs with discounts up to 50%, while also committing to ensuring service quality and providing tourists with the most memorable experiences when visiting Sa Pa during the cloud-hunting season.

With this stimulus program, many luxury hotels from 3 to 5 stars and high-end resorts are offering unprecedented deep discounts. Sa Pa Relax Hotel & Spa is offering a 30% discount on published room rates. The 5-star Lady Hill Sa Pa Resort is offering a 10% discount on direct room bookings; a 20% discount on food and beverage services; and a 30% discount on Sa Pa services, herbal baths, etc. The 4-star Amazing Sa Pa Hotel is offering a 50% discount compared to published rates for direct bookings…
Many popular tourist attractions in Sa Pa, such as Ta Phin Stone Garden and the Dreamy Rose Garden, offer free admission to visitors. Cat Cat Tourist Area provides free experiences of Northwest Vietnamese cuisine and activities such as beeswax painting, linen spinning, and weaving with local people. Many bus companies are offering discounts of up to 30% on round-trip tickets. Fansipan Sa Pa Cable Car Company (Sun World Fansipan Legend Tourist Area) is also implementing a flat rate of only 550,000 VND per ticket for round-trip Fansipan cable car tickets for Vietnamese tourists, equivalent to a 30% discount compared to the original adult ticket price.
