Singapore's Changi Airport is no longer the world's number one airport.

Skytrax is a UK-based consulting firm that owns one of the world's largest airline and airport ranking magazines and websites. The organization conducts research on commercial airlines across various aspects: flight crew, airports, airlines, airline lounges, in-flight entertainment, in-flight meals, and more. In addition, Skytrax has an airline forum where passengers share information about their personal experiences with airlines and airports.

Based on this data, the consulting firm Skytrax annually publishes a ranking of the world's best airports and airlines.

For nearly a decade, Singapore's Changi Airport has consistently been named the top airport in terms of both design and service quality. However, Changi's winning streak was interrupted in 2021 when the top spot was taken by a representative from Southwest Asia.

Qatar's Hamad International Airport has impressively secured the top spot after years of improvement. This is a proud achievement thanks to the tireless efforts of Qatar Airways and the Qatari government's investment in both transportation and aviation.

One of the highly-rated aspects of this airport is its service for transit passengers. Specifically, passengers can enjoy city tours and are provided with accommodation and meals free of charge. In addition, there is a VIP transfer service, where airline staff will directly assist passengers from the moment they disembark, through airport procedures, and until they board their next flight.

Second place on this ranking goes to Tokyo's Haneda Airport (Japan), while Singapore's Changi Airport has dropped to third place this year.
