Travel inspiration from the perspective of a young artist
With the theme of Zhou Yu - creative inspiration from trips and journeys of experience; the two female artists bring completely different, even somewhat opposite, paintings. For Camelia Pham, the inspiration for creation comes from the state of freedom in her mind, when she sets foot on the endless green grasslands, where the majestic and overlapping mountain ranges are in sight. The feeling of comfort and ease with each bare foot step on the green grass surface of the steppe is what she always dreams of.
In that vast natural landscape, there are clouds drifting lazily in the high sky, cool water flowing through small streams, white birds moving rhythmically and the vast colors of the trees and grass. In contrast to the grandeur and spaciousness of Tam Phuong (a product line with illustration design by Camelia Pham) is the liveliness and bustle of the street, the hearty sounds of the ward, of the bustling urban area in the illustration design by Lys Bui (a product line called Thong Dong).

New vision for ancient craft values
The two female artists shared that this collaboration with Hanoia also marked the first time they both approached the lacquer material. Thanks to the times working with Hanoia's production team, Camelia Pham had a deeper understanding of the lacquer material to form the idea for the painting Tam Phuong. With the window frame design, she wanted to convey the feeling of wandering when discovering and immersing herself in nature, thereby depicting the scene of horses galloping on the green grassland, in the distance are mountain ranges surrounding the small path leading to fresh flowers - the female artist's figurative message: on each trip, after each journey, what we receive are not only temporary emotions but also valuable contemplations that always bloom and bear fruit.
With a glossy lacquer background and a bright, energetic red color, Camelia Pham had an extremely interesting experience. The careful selection of bright tones not only helps highlight small details such as hands, eyes... but also creates a visual impression that attracts the eye, helping viewers easily blend into the painting and empathize.

In a more familiar approach, in the street scene with 2 versions of Hanoi - Saigon, Lys Bui also created a new detail based on each design of flower vases and boxes of Hanoia. Weaving between the small alleys bustling with people, the typical electric pole motif of the city is the new connection point between the blocks, creating a lively movement around the Thong Dong painting.

But the difficulty for the young artist lies in the fact that she has never worked directly with lacquer techniques. Therefore, when starting to design for this sophisticated and complex painting material, the female artist had to research and come up with a suitable method to be able to highlight the city's unique architectural features through the most minimalist details. Whether it is the stream of vehicles passing by or the cool cups of coffee on small plastic chairs, everything is cleverly arranged and designed to keep intact the leisurely atmosphere of the old town.
Classical harmony in contemporary life
The common point of each product line is the unlimited creative spirit present in every stroke of the two female artists. But to highlight those vivid paintings, we must definitely mention the series of manual techniques skillfully applied by the hands of the team of artisans from Hanoia.
In each collection, the lacquer artist has always left his mark with a series of new experiments on his subjects. In Thong Dong, Hanoia renews the background of the city by applying impressive color effects, bringing an eye-catching appearance to the product line. Based on the yellow and pink tones that Lys Bui chose to depict the ancient lime wall in the city, the rows of ancient houses are covered with the dreamy transformation of sunlight, evoking emotions not only for the female artist Lys Bui but also for anyone who looks at this familiar painting.
In particular, the illustrations on the two product lines are also described by Hanoia using sophisticated hand-drawing and color engraving techniques to both preserve the brand's distinctive features and highlight the talented drawings of the two artists in the living space. It is a painstaking, repetitive process that any artisan must go through, requiring them to be diligent and meticulous in order to bring the smooth, glossy lacquer finish to the user.
Harmonious resonance between two generations
Working with Hanoia, the young artists have connected with traditional values, while approaching a sophisticated art form that contains the quintessence of Vietnamese fine arts. Having a relationship with lacquer, Lys Bui and Camelia Pham have expressed their own unique personalities, bringing diversity through spreading the beauty of this traditional material to a wider generation of customers.

On Hanoia’s side, the brand also has the opportunity to experiment and renew itself by getting closer to young talents, thereby bringing a contemporary beauty that lasts over time to lacquer. With the harmonious coordination in applying lacquer and typical manual techniques, Hanoia, together with Lys Bui and Camelia Pham, turned the painting Tam Phuong and Thong Dong into a fresh highlight for a long journey filled with the sound of freedom called Chu Du.
