This giant potato-shaped hotel in Idaho is 8.5 meters long, 3.7 meters wide, 3.5 meters high and weighs up to 6 tons, located on 400 hectares of former farmland.

The hotel began as a potato-shaped truck built in 2012 from steel, plywood, plaster, and concrete to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Idaho Potato Commission. It traveled the country for seven years promoting the giant potato, the state’s most popular export. It quickly became one of the most talked-about advertising vehicles on American roads.

After finishing its cross-country tour, the committee was unsure what to do with the giant potato cart, so former Idaho Potato Tour spokesperson and DIY enthusiast Kristie Wolfie proposed turning it into a livable rental home. Wolfe spent two years restoring it, and it is now available for rent on Airbnb.

Inside this charming home is a lovely space for two guests, with a king-sized bed, a small bathroom, a small kitchen, air conditioning, and even a fireplace. A night at this hotel costs around $247 including taxes and fees.

“If you really want to know what it's like to be inside a potato instead of eating it, come here and experience it,” said Frank Muir, Chairman of the Idaho Potato Commission.
