The central setting of the entire film is the record store at No. 32 where Chen Yunru works part-time. This store is actually an art space and ceramics museum located in a small alley in the Central and Western districts, known as "Little Semi-Down Building".
Before being chosen as a film location, this ceramics museum was renovated by creator Fang Qiwen from an old pharmacy with a history of nearly 70 years, following the characteristic loft architecture of Taiwan. The antique charm of the place, along with the artistic arrangements, created a captivating and nostalgic space, perfectly suited to the 1999 setting of the film.
