As early as mid-February, Kawazu cherry blossoms bloom in Ibaraki Flower Park, Ishioka City, Ibaraki Prefecture. At the same time, in one of the three most famous gardens in Japan - Kairakuen Garden or Hitachi Park of the prefecture, visitors can see plum blossoms and daffodils. From spring to summer, around May, colorful flowers begin to bloom. Visitors to Ibaraki will definitely be overwhelmed and delighted by the blue carpet of Baby Blue Eyes flowers at Hitachi Park, the azalea gardens at Kasamatsutsuji Park blooming from late April, or the bright red poppies in May at the Ushiku Buddha Statue and the deep purple irises of Suigo Ayame Itako Garden in June.

Another highlight that cannot be missed in the summer (early June - early July) is definitely the hydrangea gardens at Nihonmatsuji Temple (Itako City), Hozaen Garden (Mito City) or Amabiki Kanon Temple (Sakuragawa City). From late July to mid-September, visitors will be able to admire the carpet of five-color chrysanthemums and sunflowers that dye the whole area bright in color at Hitachi Park.

Summer - Fall

There is no month or season of the year that Ibaraki lacks in flowers. Autumn is no exception, the green carpet of Kochia trees begins to bloom from August at Hitachi Park, colorful light shows combined with music cover the entire garden on a warm autumn afternoon. In October, the Kochia trees will turn a brilliant red, enchanting countless visitors.
