The competition showcases the beauty of nature in a long format, to dramatic effect. The Epson International Pano Awards is the world's largest panorama competition for professional and amateur photographers everywhere. The competition attracted over 4,129 entries from 1,197 photographers in 98 different countries.

“Words cannot express how honored I am to win the Epson Pano Award 2022 as Open Photographer of the Year. It means so much to me and to the land where I took those stunning photos – Xinjiang, China. As a landscape photographer, my heart always beats so fast when I pick up my camera and capture the majestic Chinese landscapes that Western photographers rarely see,” Jinyi shared.

Living With A Monster, 30th place, Amateur category: photo of Cumbre Vieja volcano on La Palma island, Canary Islands.
Speaking of the winning entry, The Vein is the result of 40 photos stitched together.
“I used my personal drone to take 90-degree aerial photos at 40 points (5 rows and 8 columns) of the canyon to get the most panoramic picture. Nature is a great artist, and it reminded me of an abstract painting,” Jinyi said.

The awards were founded in 2009 by Australian landscape photographer David Evans with sponsorship from Epson Australia and have since grown to become a gathering place for all photographers, industry professionals and sponsors.
