You don't have to be in East Asia to enjoy the atmosphere and traditional cuisine of Lunar New Year! Come to Sydney and discover the countless parties and street festivals that you can't miss this New Year 2020.

1. Bodhi Restaurant (Sydney CBD)

What better place to celebrate the New Year than Sydney's renowned vegan restaurant? At Bodhi, diners will be served a special menu dedicated to the Lunar New Year, and of course, everything is vegan. A very sincere recommendation: for a perfect lunch, don't miss the colorful and chewy Koi Mochi dessert topped with coconut, pumpkin, and pineapple; and if you've just finished dinner, don't hesitate to try the fluffy steamed coconut sponge cake.

With its view overlooking Sydney Harbour Bridge, Aria restaurant would be a great choice for enjoying a luxurious dinner to celebrate the Year of the Rat. From January 22nd to 29th, the restaurant also has a specially designed menu for Tet (Vietnamese Lunar New Year). Furthermore, diners will have the opportunity to enjoy a high-end menu created by Chef Joel Bickford himself. All six dishes on this menu are inspired by Chinese cuisine and prepared with a wide variety of ingredients: from South Australian rock oysters to Maremma duck and Japanese oyster mushrooms.

4. Wild Life Sydney Zoo

Are you ready to enjoy a blend of authentic wildlife and grand, traditional feasts this Lunar New Year? WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo is partnering with New Shanghai restaurant to host the Dumplings at Twilight event, taking place on the zoo's famous Koala Terrace. This elaborate feast features traditional Chinese dishes such as shrimp and pork wontons, steamed buns, and many more. Furthermore, ticket holders will have the privilege of visiting the zoo after hours – a unique and exciting experience.

5. Darling Square, Haymarket

Darling Square, bathed in light, seemed ready to join in the New Year's festivities with over 60 food stalls adorned with dazzling lights and floral decorations. From January 20th to February 9th, the square planned to celebrate the Year of the Rat with creative and unique designs and arrangements in the shape of a rat, much to the delight of visitors.

Here, diners can enjoy a myriad of special dishes from famous restaurants, from lobster-filled dumplings and "dragon pearl" ice cream from Made in China restaurant to Cantonese-style raw fish salad from Dopa by Devon, and even the limited-edition red radish noodles from the Japanese noodle shop IIKO Mazesoba.

6. Spice Temple Restaurant (Sydney CBD)

When talking about places to celebrate Lunar New Year in Sydney, Spice Temple is definitely a must-mention. This year, all the dishes on the menu have been specially designed by head chef Andy Evans to symbolize good fortune and prosperity.
