Legend of the founder of the sacred temple
Ta Cu Mountain is known to many tourists as a national scenic spot of Binh Thuan province and is home to a 49-meter-long statue of Buddha entering nirvana located on the top of the mountain. At the same time, this place also contains legends about the founder of the sacred pagoda that is visited by many visitors from all over the world...

At the end of the 19th century, there was a great monk who lived in seclusion and practiced asceticism at Ta Cu Mountain. That person was the Patriarch Tran, whose Dharma name was Thong An, and whose Dharma title was Huu Duc. Patriarch Tran Huu Duc (1812 - 1887) was born into a noble family in Bac Ma village, Dong Xuan, Phu Yen (now Tuy An district, Phu Yen province). His father and mother were both virtuous and kind-hearted people.
During his childhood, he showed an unusual intelligence, with wise and kind thoughts. At the age of 10, his parents sent him to study Confucianism, and he soon became well-versed in etiquette. At the age of 17, after taking care of his parents' funeral, he decided to leave home to fulfill his wish to leave the world.

In 1872, he quietly crossed the mountains to Ta Cu - at that time it was still a sacred forest full of wild animals, with no human footprints. Master Huu Duc climbed the mountain peak of more than 400m high, where the mountain face faced the ocean, with many large rocks piled on top of each other, chose a small, narrow cave just enough for a person to crawl through, walked down more than three meters, there was a flat, open space with a stone table that was quite wide and private, as a place for him to shelter from the rain and sun.
Beneath the cave, there is a year-round stream of clear underground water and many deep, winding paths. At the mouth of the cave are large, green trees, both quiet and mysterious, suitable for deep meditation. He vowed to live a life of seclusion, never leaving the mountain. This place was later called the Patriarch's Cave.
From the cable car up Ta Cu mountain, visitors can see the primeval forest with rich flora and fauna.
At the stone chamber, he drank spring water, picked wild vegetables, gathered edible fruits and made friends with plants, birds and animals. Since then, countless legends about the founder Huu Duc throughout the years of founding the mountain have made Ta Cu mountain even more sacred and mysterious.

The two pagodas on Ta Cu mountain, Linh Son Truong Tho (upper pagoda) and Linh Son Long Doan (lower pagoda), are familiar meeting places for pilgrims from near and far.

Linh Son Truong Tho is a pagoda consecrated by King Tu Duc after the founder Tran Huu Duc prescribed medicine to cure the Queen Mother Tu Du. Therefore, this pagoda is often associated with the healing legend that is still passed down by people to this day.
After a period of restoration, Linh Son Truong Tho Pagoda has almost changed its appearance. However, the pagoda roof seen from the top of the mountain still retains its original shape with red tiled roof standing out among the mountains and forests, completing the beautiful natural picture of Ta Cu seen from above.

Linh Son Long Doan is located on the eastern slope of Linh Son Truong Tho mountain, built by Venerable Tam Hien - one of the successor disciples of Master Huu Duc from a thatched hut. Inside the temple grounds, there are outstanding structures such as the tower of the Patriarch and his vassals, the Buddha shrine...
