This event is a significant activity to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Switzerland (October 11, 1971 - October 11, 2021). The program not only contributes to strengthening the friendly relations between the two countries but also introduces the image of Vietnam – rich in cultural identity yet modern – to the public in Switzerland and Europe.
Lasting 3 hours, the program will interweave diverse musical performances, ranging from traditional Vietnamese music such as Then singing and Hue royal court music to world classical music such as operas, Trinh Cong Son's songs, and performances by Suboi, Ha Le, and Quang Dang, along with promotional video clips about rice, pho, Vietnamese culture, and various interactive sessions with special guests.

The program featured the participation of many prominent "ambassadors" such as leaders from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Swiss Ambassador to Vietnam Ivo Sieber, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Switzerland Le Linh Lan, Ambassador - Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations, the World Trade Organization (WTO) and other international organizations in Geneva Le Thi Tuyet Mai, the Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Switzerland Philipp Rosler (former Deputy Prime Minister of Germany)...
This is also an opportunity for prominent intellectuals and entrepreneurs such as Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien, former Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts; Mr. Hoang Nam Tien, Chairman of FPT Telecom; Mr. Bui Hai Hung, Director of VinAI Research Institute; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, CEO of MindX… to share their journeys of development alongside the country.
In addition, lawyer Pierre Schifferli, who lived and worked in Ho Chi Minh City since the 1970s, along with a few Swiss tourists, will share their memories of Vietnam and the development of Vietnam-Switzerland relations spanning half a century.
Painting prodigy Xeo Chu is the youngest participant in the program.
During the program, the audience will also have the opportunity to interact with top artists and athletes and hear about their experiences with the unique culture, cuisine, natural landscapes, and people of Vietnam.
"Vietnam Day in Switzerland 2021" will take place simultaneously at three locations: the Vietnam Television studio, the Vietnamese Embassy in Switzerland, and the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations, WTO, and other international organizations in Geneva.
