Organizing online "Vietnam Day in Switzerland 2021"

The program “Vietnam Day in Switzerland 2021” was held online for the first time and broadcast on social media platforms from 3:00 p.m. on October 9, 2021. Through the program, the image of a Vietnam rich in identity will be introduced to the public in Switzerland and Europe.

The event is an important activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Switzerland (October 11, 1971 - October 11, 2021). The program not only contributes to strengthening the friendly relationship between the two countries, but also introduces the image of Vietnam, rich in identity but no less modern, to the public in Switzerland and Europe.

Lasting 3 hours, the program will intersperse musical performances of various genres, from traditional Vietnamese music such as Then singing, Hue royal court music to classical music of the world such as opera, music of Trinh Cong Son, or performances of Suboi, Ha Le, Quang Dang, with video clips promoting rice, pho, Vietnamese culture, and many exchange programs with special guests.

The program had the participation of many typical "ambassadors" such as leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Swiss Ambassador to Vietnam Ivo Sieber, Vietnamese Ambassador to Switzerland Le Linh Lan, Ambassador - Head of the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam to the United Nations, the World Trade Organization (WTO) and other international organizations in Geneva Le Thi Tuyet Mai, Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Switzerland Philipp Rosler (former Deputy Prime Minister of Germany)...

This is also an opportunity for prominent intellectuals and businesspeople such as Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien, former Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts, Chairman of FPT Telecom Hoang Nam Tien, Director of VinAI Research Institute Bui Hai Hung, CEO MindX Nguyen Thi Thu Ha... to share their development journey with the country.

In addition, Lawyer Pierre Schifferli, who has lived and worked in Ho Chi Minh City since the 1970s, and several Swiss tourists will also share their memories of Vietnam and the development of Vietnam-Switzerland relations over the past half century.
