The seminar was attended by Mr. Kawaue Junichi, Consul General of the Consulate General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, representative of Hakone City, along with 6 tourism companies in Hakone and representatives of more than 20 major tourism companies in Vietnam.

In his speech, Mr. Katsumata, Vice Chairman of Hakone City, assessed that Vietnam has strong economic and urban growth and will certainly continue to develop strongly in the future. During his return to Vietnam this time, he and the business delegation of Hakone City hope to introduce to travel agencies in Vietnam attractive tourist destinations and entertainment services in Hakone and thereby hope to welcome more tourists from Vietnam to Hakone in the near future.

At the seminar, representatives of 25 Vietnamese travel businesses had the opportunity to meet and exchange directly with 6 businesses providing tourism services from Hakone including Izu Hakone Railway Company, Odakyu Travel Company, Odakyu Group, and the Grand Prince Hakone Hotel system, Fujiya Hotel, Hakone Kowakien Tenyu Hotel.

Hakone City attracts more than 20 million domestic and foreign tourists every year, considered a treasure trove of Japanese hot springs and possessing beautiful natural sites and world cultural heritages such as Mount Fuji, Lake Ashinoko, Owakudani Valley... Located about 70km from Tokyo - the venue of the 2020 Olympics and Paralympics, Hakone City promises to welcome a large number of international tourists in the coming years.
