On April 11th, Professor Kengo Kuma, a leading contemporary Japanese architect and the architect of the Waterina Suites project, visited Vietnam to conduct a survey and inspect the construction progress and completion of his first project here.

Waterina Suites - a project meticulously invested in quality.

Waterina Suites is a complex comprising a 25-story tower, a 5-story podium, and only 98 units, including luxury apartments, penthouses, duplexes, and single-story apartments with 2-4 bedrooms and river views. The apartments feature expansive balconies extending across the facade, offering expansive vistas. Amenities such as restaurants, a spa, swimming pool, convenience stores, a gym, and a cafe are all thoughtfully and creatively arranged, creating a sophisticated and high-quality living space.

Waterina Suites is the first luxury apartment project designed by the talented Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. Located in the new administrative center of District 2, Ho Chi Minh City, the project is in its final stages of completion before its public launch. Prior to its release, the project had already garnered attention from many customers and design enthusiasts, who were impressed by its distinctive, sophisticated, and elegant design, deeply rooted in Eastern feng shui principles and local culture.

Sharing his thoughts on this site inspection, architect Kengo Kuma said: “I am very pleased and appreciate the efforts of the investor, Maeda Thien Duc, and the team currently completing Waterina Suites to create a truly high-quality project. I have closely followed the construction process; this is my third time visiting Vietnam to survey and check the progress of the project, and up to this point, from the overall design to every detail in the lobby, amenities area, and apartments, everything is closely following my design.”

The project meets Japanese standards from design to construction quality.

Professor Kengo Kuma represents a design philosophy oriented towards nature, sophistication, and elegance. His works are characterized by grace, softness, and the flexible use of natural materials. Before designing Waterina Suites, he and his colleagues spent considerable time in Vietnam surveying and researching everything from the topography, climate, and lifestyle to the architectural mindset of the country. The shimmering curves of the Saigon River winding around the city, as well as the vibrant curves of the terraced rice fields in Northwest Vietnam, quickly captivated him.

Waterina Suites được biết tới là kiến trúc nhà ở cao cấp độc bản tại Sài Gòn với đặc trưng là những đường cong mềm mại.

Waterina Suites is known as a unique high-end residential architectural design in Saigon, characterized by its graceful curves.

Water served as the primary source of inspiration for Professor Kengo Kuma in the design of Waterina Suites. The overall structure is a collection of soft, graceful, undulating curves running throughout the building. This is a unique architectural design in Ho Chi Minh City to date, breaking away from the conventional square-shaped building design prevalent today. Accordingly, all apartments in Waterina Suites offer direct views of the Saigon River, and the design incorporates balconies running along each unit, allowing natural air, wind, and light to fill the living space.

Despite its soft design, Waterina Suites' architecture remains a solid structure, incorporating many advanced techniques according to high-end Japanese construction standards. The walls are constructed of concrete instead of conventional bricks, giving Waterina Suites superior waterproofing, sound insulation, and fire resistance compared to other buildings. The exterior utilizes elastic paint and advanced 3-layer membrane waterproofing technology from Japan, maximizing crack resistance and increasing the building's strength and durability.

Dr. Tetsuo Kida, General Director of Maeda Thien Duc Co., Ltd., shared his commitment to creating Waterina Suites with Japanese quality.

Waterina Suites is not only a unique architectural design, but it also incorporates cutting-edge management technology. Each apartment is equipped with a modern fire safety system, coupled with a three-layer security system, ensuring maximum safety. The project's interior features products from renowned Japanese brands such as Daikin ceiling-mounted air conditioners, TOTO high-end sanitary ware, and Samurai heat-resistant composite walls…

To ensure the project meets the design specifications, Maeda Thien Duc Company brought exceptional Japanese artisans to Vietnam to create unique details within the apartments as well as the overall architecture of the building, determined that each apartment would be a true work of art.

Sharing more about the construction process, Mr. Tetsuo Kida added: “We encountered many difficulties during construction due to both subjective and objective factors. However, with the determination to create Waterina Suites as a symbol of quality and class in Vietnam, the architects and workers of Maeda Thien Duc have shown great creativity and determination in resolving situations, completing construction on schedule and ensuring accuracy down to every detail according to the design of architect Kengo Kuma.”
