AirHelp's data is based on statistics from commercial providers, plus 40,000 passenger surveys collected in 40 countries in 2018, along with AirHelp's own database.

Athens Airport's high ranking has surprised many. According to AirHelp, it benefits from favorable conditions, including sunny and warm weather which minimizes flight delays and cancellations due to bad weather. The majority of passengers are tourists, often in high spirits. Therefore, reviews of the airport are generally positive.
This ranking is based on data collected in 2018 from over 40,000 passengers across 40 countries.
For the best airline category, AirHelp evaluated 72 airlines for which the company had statistical data, based on criteria such as on-time performance, service quality, and complaint handling (with equal weighting for each category).
Qatar is the only country in the world to have the best airline and airport in 2019.
