The predecessor of Azerai La Residence was part of the French Governor's residence during the old colonial period, built in the early 1930s, when Art Décor reached its peak and flourished all over the world. The current residence has been restored to its original form and expanded with two wings in harmony with the decorative art and installation of the Art Décor school, bringing luxury and elegance. The exterior of the building with its unique curved lines and horizontal cuts, the shape of the building resembles a boat moving forward. "Dad" Dung is the nickname that hotel staff use to call Mr. Duong Dung, a waiter at Le Parfum restaurant who has worked in this building for 32 years. April 2018 was Mr. Dung's retirement date, but his retirement only lasted three days. Mr. Dung asked to return to work because he missed the hotel and felt happy to work.

In addition to the collection of 13 portraits of 13 Nguyen Dynasty kings, visitors will admire the paintings in the collection of ancient photos taken by French photographers, including photos of ancient Hue, art décor... displayed along the corridor as well as in the room. These photos are all enlarged from original films, provided by the author himself.
