"Dad" Dung is the affectionate nickname given to Mr. Duong Dung by the hotel staff, a waiter at Le Parfum restaurant who has worked in the building for 32 years. Mr. Dung was due to retire in April 2018, but his retirement lasted only three days. He requested to return to work because he missed the hotel and felt happy working there.

Having worked in this building for over 30 years, he has witnessed emotionally charged historical changes. He once served breakfast to General Vo Nguyen Giap and President Le Duc Anh, and he knows many stories about the ancient city of Hue. The spa area has been completely upgraded with six treatment rooms (four single and two double), each with a dressing area, makeup area, and bathroom. In addition to the collection of 13 portraits of the 13 Nguyen Dynasty kings, visitors can admire paintings from a collection of antique photographs taken by French photographers, including images of old Hue, art deco decorations, etc., displayed along the corridors and in the rooms. These photographs are all enlarged from original film, provided by the photographers themselves.
