The most representative of Myanmar's cultural colors is the capital Yangon with ancient European, Indian, Chinese architecture mixed with modern new buildings. Pagodas, churches and mosques are all prominent. This is not a modern city but it is full of vibrant cultural colors. Yangon attracts from the giant Shwedagon Pagoda, from the colorful sidewalks to the fruit stalls stretching along the streets. Early in the morning, groups of monks, in brown or yellow robes depending on the season, snake through the streets begging for alms. In the afternoon, groups of nuns in pink robes are also bustling. This journey also takes you to Kyaikhtiyo, where Buddhists often make pilgrimages to seek peace of mind.
