During the flood season, when the water level rises, the entire 845-hectare melaleuca forest is submerged, creating a truly spectacular landscape. Visiting Tra Su during the flood season, tourists feel as if they have entered a verdant natural world, offering a sense of peace and tranquility. Along the embankment, glimpses of birds soaring freely can be seen behind the gently swaying green melaleuca forest.

Located about 30km from Chau Doc town, Tra Su Melaleuca Forest is considered the most typical and unique natural habitat conservation area of the wetland ecosystem in the Mekong Delta. During the high water season, there's nothing more delightful than a boat trip through the forest, admiring the pure white melaleuca flowers blooming in the early morning sun, their delicate fragrance lingering in the air. In the evening, as the sunlight begins to fade, flocks of birds sheltering in the melaleuca forest begin to fly back to their nests, with countless birds and egrets calling out to each other, creating a harmonious symphony that fills the evening sky.
Located deep within the Tam Nong wetland area, with a total area of 7,588 hectares, Tram Chim National Park (Dong Thap province) is one of Vietnam's eight most important bird conservation areas; and the world's 2,000th Ramsar site (wetland of international biological and conservation importance). This is Vietnam's last remaining grassland wetland system, rich in biodiversity and famous for the red-crowned crane, one of the rare bird species listed in the international Red Book.

During the flood season, water from the Mekong River overflows, inundating the fields and transforming Tram Chim into an oasis amidst the vast expanse of water. Thousands of white egrets dot the fields against the backdrop of the lush green mangroves, creating a truly impressive scene. Climbing to the watchtower and gazing out towards the horizon, visitors feel as if they are embracing a pure, soothing green landscape.
Furthermore, visitors will have fascinating experiences exploring the Thap Muoi Lotus Field tourist area with its pristine and beautiful scenery of vast lotus fields. Not only can they enjoy and immerse themselves in the tranquil and pure atmosphere created by the fragrance and colors of thousands of lotus petals, but they can also capture romantic moments in this poetic and charming setting.
