Contrary to popular belief, a blue moon is not a phenomenon in which the moon is blue, but rather the second full moon in a month. Normally, the moon is only full on the full moon day, but if the moon is full for the second time, it is called a blue moon. The blue moon phenomenon usually repeats itself every 2-3 years due to the difference between the lunar and solar calendars. However, in 2020, the blue moon phenomenon will appear on Halloween night, making this event even more special.
