The tour group got to experience making puffed rice, a part of their childhood memories – a simple, rustic treat from the countryside for children in the Mekong Delta. Rice is placed in a rotating puffing device over a fire for about 15 minutes. Then, the device is placed in front of a woven bag and pounded hard. With a loud "boom," everyone jumps, smoke billows up, and a stream of puffed, white rice pours into the bag.

Experiencing making puffed rice for the first time, travel blogger Vinh Gấu was amazed: "When I started, I realized how difficult it is for those who make puffed rice. They have to use a lot of force to turn the handle, endure the constant heat of the oven, and the loud popping sound of the rice made my ears ring. It actually took me five minutes to hear anyone around me. I only just experienced it and it was already hard, while those who make puffed rice have to do it every day."

The next activity on the trip to Con Son Island is making jackfruit leaf cakes. This simple, unpretentious dish evokes fond memories for those far from home. Rice is soaked until it swells, then ground by hand. Afterward, it's kneaded until smooth, and tapioca starch is added to make the cake more chewy. Once the dough has been left to rest for the required time, a thin layer is spread on the back of a jackfruit leaf, then wrapped and steamed for about 10 minutes before being ready to eat.

Also during their trip to Con Son Island, the Amazing Tour 8 group had a special experience crossing a monkey bridge. The bridge is made from slender tree trunks, with handrails made of bamboo. As they crossed the precarious bridge, with water below, the experience caused a comical swaying motion, reminiscent of monkeys using their hands for support to move, hence the name "monkey bridge".
