“Although this idea has been implemented by many people before, I focus on exploiting factors that are close and familiar to the local community to ensure that people have jobs and a stable source of income for their families. The goal is to create more job opportunities for people here, helping to improve their living standards,” said Mr. Duong Quoc Hieu - owner of Chi Pau Coffee.

For the past three years, Mr. Hieu has been looking for ways to introduce the beauty of Ta Van village to everyone. And now, he is very happy to finally find the answer. He wants to create authentic travel experiences, helping visitors better understand the life and culture of the people here. In his opinion, Sa Pa in general and Ta Van village in particular deserve to be known more.
Unlike the plains, Sa Pa only has one golden rice season a year, from mid-August to the end of September. To fully enjoy that beauty, Mr. Hieu had a very unique idea: a coffee shop nestled among the terraced fields. Located in Pho village, Muong Hoa commune, the coffee shop is like a picture in the middle of beautiful nature.

After a winding journey on the mountain passes, visitors will enter a completely different space. The small sign Chi Pau Coffee appears gently in the middle of a peaceful scene. Stepping through the gate, you feel like you are lost in a separate world. In front of you is a spacious yard with three small, pretty houses connected together. The last house, where many people gather, is the coffee shop you are looking for. From here, a beautiful scene appears: the vast rice fields spread out embracing the coffee shop, creating the feeling that you are sitting in the heart of nature. The space is so quiet that you can clearly hear the rustling of rice leaves in the wind.
“From the idea stage to the implementation, we encountered many difficulties. From choosing suitable materials, preserving the landscape and identity of the village, to supporting the surrounding community... there were no shortage of challenges. However, when I saw everyone happy, greeting and shaking hands, I felt very happy and satisfied in my heart,” said Mr. Hieu.

The entire space of the shop is built from natural materials such as wood, bamboo, rattan... Instead of using reinforced concrete, the path leading to the shop is paved with cobblestones arranged by the skillful hands of the H'Mong people, creating an extremely rustic and cozy feeling. With small bamboo huts, visitors can comfortably admire the vast rice fields, sip a cup of coffee and enjoy the fresh air.
The owner of Chi Pau Coffee shared: “Our coffee shop focuses on harmony with nature and reflects the daily activities of local people. Here, life is full and filled with laughter, creating a sense of relaxation and dispelling all worries and stress from work and daily life.”
The open design also helps visitors easily enjoy the full beauty of Sa Pa village.
Located on a 2,000 m2 plot of land2, the coffee shop offers an airy, fresh space, completely without the need for air conditioning. On weekends, the shop becomes bustling with about 200 - 300 guests. From small, pretty corners for virtual living to large tables for groups of friends, the shop meets the needs of all customers. With a view straight out to the village and terraced fields, the shop is not only a place to enjoy coffee but also an ideal destination to relax and enjoy life.
The drink menu at the shop is quite rich, from traditional coffees to seasonal fruit smoothies. Prices are extremely reasonable, only from 40,000 to 60,000 VND.

“In the future, I hope to implement new business models to create more job opportunities for local people. The goal is to develop synchronously, so that everyone can progress together. Currently, we are expanding our operations, but to stay connected and develop sustainably with the village, I will listen to the community's opinions and try to find more new ideas,” Mr. Hieu added.
