As the oldest hotel in Hanoi, Sofitel Metropole has an ancient style from the French colonial period and is the residence of many heads of state, politicians, ambassadors and international figures of stature. The 5-star hotel is only 160 meters from the famous Hanoi Opera House. The romantic Hoan Kiem Lake is less than 500 meters from the hotel. This hotel is located near the National Convention Center, designed with the idea of "legendary dragon" symbolizing authority and nobility. The head of state's room is the "dragon's head". The room has a total area of 320 m2, divided into 8 different rooms. Of which, the living room occupies nearly half of the total common area, is the place to receive guests and hold meetings when necessary. The room has a large glass door system, overlooking the entire city. Currently, this hotel has no vacant rooms on February 26-27.
SHERATON HANOI HOTEL
Located next to West Lake, the hotel has 299 rooms and has been in operation since 2004. In 2006, the US rented the entire 18th floor, the highest floor of the hotel, for President Bush. On the 18th floor, there is a royal room and 2 presidential rooms with an area of nearly 200 m2/room.
To ensure security, no one knew where Mr. Bush was staying in the three rooms. At that time, the entire 18th floor and the hallway were under the control of the US security force, and no one could access them.
The royal suite and the presidential suite both have expensive, modern amenities. There are also rooms for the guards and secretaries.
DAEWOO HOTEL
Daewoo Hotel (Ba Dinh District) is where President Bill Clinton stayed when he visited Vietnam in 2000.
