Turkish Airlines and Mongolia’s national carrier, MIAT Mongolia Airlines, recently signed a codeshare agreement. The agreement signed between the two airlines will allow them to offer more flexibility to their respective passengers on direct flights between Turkey and Mongolia along with connecting flights via Istanbul.
Türkiye's national airline Turkish Airlines and Mongolia's national airline, MIAT Mongolia Airlines, recently signed a codeshare agreement.
Regarding the agreement, Turkish Airlines CEO Bilal EKŞİ said: “Both national airlines have strengthened their strong cooperation through the signing of this codeshare agreement that will increase traffic efficiency between Istanbul and Ulaanbaatar. As a result, more Turkish and Mongolian passengers will be able to visit these two unique and beautiful countries. In addition, we will connect more destinations based on the existing advantages of the newly signed codeshare agreement.”
“This is an important milestone in the cooperation of both companies. The agreement will allow customers of both airlines to have more choices and connections. Turkish Airlines is an important global airline with an extensive network and partnering with such an elite airline is a great benefit for us,” said Mr. Munhktamir, CEO of MIAT Mongolia Airlines.
This reciprocal arrangement will allow Türkiye and Mongolia to provide seamless connections for their passengers.
Through this partnership, Turkish Airlines will offer Ulaanbaatar as a Marketing Carrier on flights operated by MIAT Mongolia Airlines, while MIAT Mongolia Airlines passengers will be able to reach many destinations in Europe and the United States through Turkish Airlines’ extensive network. This reciprocal arrangement will allow Turkey and Mongolia to offer seamless connections to their passengers. Turkish Airlines will use the code “TK” on MIAT Mongolia flights between Ulaanbaatar and Istanbul. Similarly, MIAT Mongolia Airlines will place its code on Istanbul-Ulaanbaatar flights and also on 10 destinations beyond Istanbul operated by Turkish Airlines.
