Turkish Airlines, the national airline of Turkey, and MIAT Mongolia Airlines, the national airline of Mongolia, recently signed a codeshare agreement. The agreement between the two airlines will allow them to offer greater flexibility to their respective passengers on direct flights between Türkiye and Mongolia, as well as connecting flights via Istanbul.
Turkish Airlines, the national airline of Turkey, and MIAT Mongolia Airlines, the national airline of Mongolia, recently signed a codeshare agreement.
Regarding the agreement, Turkish Airlines CEO Bilal EKŞİ stated: “Both national airlines have strengthened their already strong partnership through the signing of this codeshare agreement, which will improve traffic efficiency between Istanbul and Ulaanbaatar. As a result, more Turkish and Mongolian passengers will be able to visit these two unique and beautiful countries. Furthermore, we will connect more destinations based on the existing strengths of the newly signed codeshare agreement.”
MIAT Mongolia Airlines CEO Munhktamir stated: “This is a significant milestone in the collaboration between the two companies. The agreement will allow customers of both airlines to have more choices and connections. Turkish Airlines is a major global airline with an extensive network, and partnering with such a prestigious airline is a great benefit to us.”
This reciprocal arrangement will allow Türkiye and Mongolia to offer seamless connections for their passengers.
Through this partnership, Turkish Airlines will offer Ulaanbaatar as a Marketing Carrier on flights operated by MIAT Mongolia Airlines, while MIAT Mongolia Airlines passengers will be able to reach a wide range of destinations in Europe and the United States through Turkish Airlines' extensive network. This reciprocal arrangement will allow Turkey and Mongolia to provide seamless connections for their passengers. Turkish Airlines will use the code “TK” on MIAT Mongolia Airlines-operated flights between Ulaanbaatar and Istanbul. Similarly, MIAT Mongolia Airlines will place its code on Istanbul-Ulaanbaatar flights and also on 10 destinations outside Istanbul operated by Turkish Airlines.
