The 2014 United Nations Vesak Festival will take place at Bai Dinh Pagoda, Ninh Binh from May 8 to 10, 2014. It is expected that about 1,500 delegates from 100 countries and territories will attend the festival, along with about 8,500 delegates, monks and Buddhists from the country. The theme of the 2014 Vesak Festival is Buddhism's contribution to achieving the United Nations' Millennium Development Goals. This year's festival aims to strengthen the relationship between the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and Buddhist Sangha and traditions of countries around the world, demonstrate Vietnam's responsibility to the United Nations, introduce the country and people of Vietnam, traditional culture and history, Vietnamese Buddhist culture, develop spiritual tourism potential, promote the image of Ninh Binh tourism, and campaign for the world and UNESCO to recognize the Trang An landscape complex as a World Natural Heritage.
This year, in addition to the logistics organization for the Great Festival assigned by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Vietravel also launched many sightseeing tours on the sidelines of the Vesak Festival to serve the large number of domestic and international delegates, monks and Buddhists attending this important event.
