After months of preparation, the introduction of entrance fees to scenic spots in Nha Trang Bay officially came into effect on September 25th. This is an important step towards restructuring tourism activities, aiming for transparency and sustainable development.
With this decision, tourists visiting popular islands will have to purchase tickets at specific prices, ranging from 6,000 VND to 40,000 VND depending on the route.
From September 25th, tourists exploring famous islands in Nha Trang Bay such as Hon Mun and Hon Tam will have to pay an entrance fee ranging from 6,000 VND to a maximum of 40,000 VND.
According to the Nha Trang Bay Management Board, the new fee is applied per visit to each destination, not based on the number of days of stay, and applies to tourists traveling by domestic waterway. This fee only includes sightseeing fees and does not include other costs such as boat rental, food, or scuba diving services.
The Director of the Nha Trang Bay Management Board stated that the unit has deployed personnel and equipment at ticket sales points, and has publicly posted fee schedules and detailed instructions so that people and businesses are well-informed.
Specifically, the fees are divided into several categories. Hon Mieu - Tri Nguyen has the lowest fee at 6,000 VND/person, a highlight of the unique Tri Nguyen fish pond. Hon Tam, Hon Tre (Vinpearl area), and Hon Mot islands have a flat fee of 8,000 VND/person. Hon Mun, Vietnam's first marine protected area and a diving paradise, has a fee of 10,000 VND/person. Finally, for the convenience of tourists who want to explore multiple points in one day, the management has introduced a comprehensive tour ticket priced at 40,000 VND/person.
Tickets can be purchased at four main locations: Nha Trang Tourist Wharf, Phu Quy Inland Waterway Wharf, the Oceanographic Institute Inland Waterway Wharf, and Ana Marina International Yacht Park. At these locations, the management has deployed staff and equipment to sell tickets, publicly display fees, and provide detailed instructions to visitors. In particular, visitors can also purchase tickets online for greater control over their itinerary.
The Nha Trang Bay Management Board also clearly stipulates the cases eligible for fee exemptions and reductions. These include: children under 6 years old, people with disabilities, and residents of Khanh Hoa province... who will be completely exempt from fees.
The Nha Trang Bay Management Board has also issued clear regulations regarding those eligible for fee exemptions and reductions. Accordingly, children under 6 years old, people with disabilities, and residents of Khanh Hoa province will be completely exempt from fees. Meanwhile, those such as children aged 6 to 16, people over 60 years old, students, and some other social policy beneficiaries will receive a 50% reduction.
The decision to charge entrance fees was approved by the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Council, with the goal of not only developing tourism but also sustainably preserving the natural beauty of Nha Trang Bay. Revenue from these fees will be used to maintain and upgrade tourism infrastructure and conserve valuable marine ecosystems. The implementation of the new fee schedule, along with transparency in management, promises to bring a more professional and sustainable tourism image to this bay.
