The groundbreaking ceremony for the Hanoi Flagpole at Ca Mau Cape took place in January 2016 in Dat Mui commune (Ngoc Hien district, Ca Mau province), the southernmost point of Vietnam.
The Hanoi flagpole at Ca Mau Cape is modeled after the flagpole in Hanoi, a solidly constructed structure consisting of a three-tiered base and the flagpole itself. The total height of the structure, including the flagpole, is over 41 meters, offering views of the mangrove forest and the East Sea from the top of the monument.
Construction of the flagpole began in January 2016 with funding from the City of Hanoi. It is expected to be inaugurated in December 2019.
The complex includes an area for festival performances, a staircase leading up to the monument for tourists, and an area for displaying historical artifacts and documents... This project was implemented with a budget of nearly 140 billion VND.
The Hanoi flagpole at Ca Mau Cape, once put into use, will contribute to creating an additional highlight and attracting tourists to the southernmost point of the country.
The overall design of the flagpole in Ca Mau is inspired by the flagpole in Hanoi.
This is a cultural project, reflecting the affection of the Party Committee and people of Hanoi for Ca Mau Cape, creating a highlight within the Ca Mau Cape National Tourist Area complex.
