Phone chargers, camera chargers, and passports are among the things many tourists forget when traveling.

A UK-based household goods company conducted a survey among shoppers asking: What do you most often forget when traveling abroad? One in ten Britons traveling overseas forget their passport. This figure was 13% for men, compared to only 6% for women. Many respondents also said they couldn't remember where they put their plane tickets or hotel reservation details before heading to the airport.

The average Briton spends nearly $200 on pre-holiday shopping. They often visit three or four different stores to buy essentials. Yet, more than half admit they still forget something for their holiday.

Despite thorough preparation, many tourists still forget some essential items when traveling.

Regarding essential items to pack, 46% of men said they couldn't leave the house without sunglasses. 67% of women said that one thing they can't do without on sunny vacations is sunscreen.

Underwear is the second most important item to pack for both sexes when traveling, with 44% of men and 66% of women expressing interest. Coming in third as essential travel items for men is swimwear, while for women it's shoes. However, these are also the items they most often forget to pack.

According to the same statistics, 63% of women buy gifts for family and friends when traveling. This also partly explains why three-quarters of British women feel more stressed than men when traveling.
