Accordingly, Vietnam is nominated for the World Travel Awards (WTA) in 2023 in many important categories such as: Asia's leading destination; Asia's leading heritage destination, Asia's leading beach destination, Asia's leading cultural tourism destination; Asia's leading nature tourism destination, Asia's leading sustainable tourism destination and Asia's leading youth tourism destination.
Along with that, the General Department of Tourism was also voted as one of the leading national tourism development agencies in Asia.
In the category of Asia's leading tourist destination in 2023, Vietnam's Ha Long Bay is being nominated, alongside other famous destinations such as Angkor Temple - Cambodia, Taj Mahal Temple - India, Great Wall - China...
In the list of Asia's leading cruise ports, there are two nominations from Vietnam: Ha Long International Cruise Port in Quang Ninh and Phu My Port in Ba Ria - Vung Tau.

Ho Chi Minh City was nominated by WTA as one of the 8 leading business travel destinations in Asia, alongside Bangkok - Thailand, Beijing - China, Kyoto - Japan, Singapore... Along with that, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism was also ranked in the top 4 leading tourism development committees in Asia.
Two famous tourist destinations of Vietnam, Hoi An and Hue, were named in the list of 6 leading cultural tourist destinations in Asia.
Along with that, many tourist destinations that have made a name for Vietnam were also named by WTA in various categories. The list of leading emerging tourist destinations in Asia named a candidate from Vietnam, Ha Giang. Moc Chau was included in the list of leading natural destinations in Asia. Da Nang City was ranked by WTA in the top festival and event destinations in Asia. Cuc Phuong National Park was honored in the list of leading national parks in Asia.
