20 years since Hoi An and My Son were recognized as World Heritage Sites.

Many key activities and events will be organized as part of the celebratory series, including: a conference to review and commend the conservation and promotion of the cultural values of Hoi An and My Son over the past 20 years since their recognition as UNESCO World Heritage Sites and the 10th anniversary of Cu Lao Cham - Hoi An being recognized as a World Biosphere Reserve; and an international scientific workshop on "The role of the community in the conservation and promotion of World Heritage Sites through the practice of the ancient town of Hoi An and the My Son temple complex".

The 20th anniversary celebration of Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary being recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and the 10th anniversary of Cham Island - Hoi An being recognized as a World Biosphere Reserve, will be held at 8 PM on September 8th at My Son Sanctuary, Duy Xuyen District.

In addition, many cultural and sporting activities are also organized during this period, such as the VTV Cup International Cycling Race - Heritage Journey; and an art exhibition on the theme of cultural heritage, showcasing 100 paintings and sculptures by artists from across the country. The event takes place from September 7th to 15th at the My Son Sanctuary.

Besides the above activities and events, the Organizing Committee of the Anniversary Celebration has also assigned localities, associations, and businesses to prepare the conditions for organizing a number of practical and meaningful activities to continue promoting the image of Quang Nam province to domestic and international friends, promoting tourism development, attracting investment; and at the same time, calling for raising awareness and consensus of the community to join hands and contribute to preserving and promoting the value of heritage.
