With the theme for 2014 being "Hoi An Heritage and Environment Year," Hoi An City implemented various activities: a photography contest; a photo exhibition; a painting contest… about Hoi An Cultural Heritage and the Cham Island area; a photo exhibition on "World Heritage Sites of Vietnam and Southeast Asia"; a Heritage Day in the community; the Hoi An Traditional Martial Arts Festival; and a "Children Singing Folk Songs" contest…
In addition, there will be numerous workshops and activities to raise awareness about environmental protection and promote heritage values, such as: giving away free paper bags to tourists; establishing coral nurseries and restoring coral reefs; and workshops on sustainable tourism development in the Cham Islands area. These activities will also participate in Car Free Day and include a workshop on "20 Years of Cooperation in the Preservation and Promotion of Hoi An's Cultural Heritage between Hoi An and Japan"...
The My Son Relic and Tourism Management Board (Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province) announced that it will organize a Film Month in August to screen scientific films, documentaries, and films about the My Son World Cultural Heritage site, along with art performances right at the My Son World Cultural Heritage site to serve tourists and the public.
