Many people try to visit all the famous places in one day, using taxis instead of walking...

Below are five common mistakes international tourists often make when visiting the City of Lights, as pointed out by two travel experts from Insider.

Visit multiple famous destinations in one day.

People often have a "greedy" mindset when it comes to destinations. They want to visit as many famous places in Paris as possible, instead of spending a lot of time in one place. Therefore, tourists tend to go on superficial trips rather than truly exploring the culture and customs.

Besides having packed itineraries, tourists often overlook travel time between destinations. Therefore, the time spent in one place is even more limited. For many, checking in and taking photos for social media is the most important thing.

"People are so caught up in their social media lives that they forget there are two main joys in Paris: exploring and watching time pass," shared Dianna Arneson, a local resident.

Spending too much time at tourist spots.

People could spend all day queuing to visit the Louvre or strolling along the Champs-Elysées. Even though these are iconic Parisian destinations, they aren't the best places to experience local life. Here, you'll encounter more tourists than locals.

Wasting money on taxi rides.

Paris is beautiful in every frame and every street corner. Therefore, aside from destinations that are quite far apart, walking and wandering through every street and exploring every nook and cranny is the best way to better understand the French capital. However, many tourists still prefer taking taxis for shorter distances.

Dress sloppily

Parisians dress simply but elegantly and fashionably. However, many tourists either dress too sloppily or too flashy. Sloppy attire can also be a reason why you might be turned away from expensive restaurants.

Noisy

Many tourist groups have a habit of speaking loudly and boisterously on public transport, in museums, or restaurants. American tourists are often cited as an example of this noisy behavior. What you need to do is speak just loud enough for the person next to you to hear.
