2. Visby Old Town
Recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, Visby has a typical medieval urban structure with a large cathedral at its center, a system of commercial trading, residential houses, granaries, and a 3.4 km long, fortified limestone wall surrounding it.
The city gates on the north, east, and south all have pathways leading from the cliffs down to the harbor, giving Visby its unique character. 3. Drottningholm Royal Palace
Built in the 17th century according to the design of architect Nicodemus Tessin, Drottningholm Palace has been the residence of the Swedish royal family since 1981 and is one of three World Heritage sites in Stockholm.
