A Night On Earth - a "heartwarming" drink for Tet

25/01/2022

They say, enjoying a single malt is more than just drinking it. And with A Night On Earth, the taste and design of this drink promises to bring a complete warm feeling to anyone lucky enough to own it.

Sweet taste from warm memories with family

Each of us carries within us a scent, a taste that, just a whiff of it, unconsciously evokes memories. For Sarah Burgess, master single malt distiller, that unforgettable scent comes from her childhood memories of celebrating the most important Scottish holiday of the year with her family, Hogmanay.

The childhood home that sowed the seeds of Sarah's creative inspiration was a small house in the village of Aberlour, Speyside, Scotland, across the river from the famous Macallan estate.

In the last days of the year, the cold of winter embraces the joyful atmosphere of the whole village preparing to welcome the new year. In that bustling atmosphere, the most prominent is the sweet aroma of freshly baked shortbread - a traditional gift that people will give each other in the "first step" ceremony on New Year's Eve. Blending with shortbread is the faint aroma of single malt drink, something you will find in any Scottish home every festival. A "harmony" of very New Year flavors such as a batch of dried oranges that are dried in the sun to decorate the door; of a plate of butterscotch; or sweet marshmallows that bring joy to children; of vanilla, cinnamon, and, the strong spicy flavor of family meals. All create a flavor of memories, which under the talented hands of Sarah Burgess has come back strongly in the flavor of A Night On Earth.

On the process of creating A Night On Earth, Sarah Burgess shares: “As a single malt distiller, it is a privilege to capture the sights, tastes and experiences of Hogmanay. I hope this heartwarming drink will reflect the joy and deep pride that Scottish people feel during this most important time of the year. At the heart of A Night On Earth is nothing less than people and the special moments they share as they gather with friends and family to celebrate and celebrate the new year. Wherever you are and whenever you celebrate the new year, A Night On Earth will be the perfect drink to accompany you and your loved ones to sublimate the emotions of togetherness.”

Box design and sweet memory pieces

Not only stopping at the taste, the mark of the Hogmanay New Year celebration is also expressed through the design of the container, created by the talented hands of French-Japanese designer Erica Dorn.

For the first time, connoisseurs have been able to hold in their hands a single malt box design, whose artistic highlights are simply abstracted Hogmanay moments: first-footing, lighting fires, throwing coals, eating, drinking, raising glasses together... On the outside, the memory fragments of Hogmanay moments stand out in red tones symbolizing luck, and the warm New Year's Eve fire that millions of families lit to celebrate the new year. Inside, those memory fragments are covered in patches of magical blue. For those who deeply miss the warm moments of the last winter night of the year, this will be the special blue of that night. And for those who are full of national pride, this blue has an even more sacred meaning as it is the color of the Scottish flag, symbolizing Saint Andrew.

It is said that enjoying single malt has more moments than just drinking. The taste and packaging design of A Night On Earth bring a complete warm feeling to anyone lucky enough to own it. Perhaps because it was born from the heart, mind and strong emotions in the memories of talented people with the desire to pursue extraordinary values.
